This system was removed from a university lab as surplus to requirements. The lab reported: "Hasn’t  (more)been used for a few years. I am told it was working fine last time. There is also included a spare unit which the university was using to provide spare parts. There are eight tube rails each holding 24 tubes. There are no personal data on either of the units and all passwords and usernames have been changed on both. A HP 1702 monitor, usb keyboard and mouse are also included. The main unit is in reasonably good, used cosmetic condition but it does have some scrapes, scratches and marks from use. The unit powers up and both Green LEDs light. You can also feel the well block heating up. The well block is 96 hole. The system includes: 1 x Agilent Stratagene MX3000P. (various marks from use)1 x Dell Optiplex755 PC with keyboard & mouse.1 x Monitor. (various marks from use)1 x VGA Cable.1 x RS232 Cable. The PC is running a fresh install of Windows 7. Installed is a copy of Stratagene MxPro - Mx3000P v4.10 build 389.The software will control the Mx3000P unit. We have run a basic heat cycle with it and verified that the lamp will turn on & off. It has not been tested any further.

We were unable to test them further than this, however. The system comes supplied without a detector. The ECD one that was inside has been retained by the lab. The item turns on and is in good condition with only minor signs of use. When the device started up, it ran into an error with code 7033. The error message warned that the clock timer was not set, and we needed to select the "set_time" option from the user settings. We tried to dismiss the warning by pressing the OK button, but the touchscreen did not respond. Unfortunately, this meant we were unable to perform any further testing. Due to this item is sold as Spares/Repairs.

It is in reasonable cosmetic condition with marks from use. The grills on the fans have rusted, but the lab informed us that the rust was purely cosmetic and had nothing to do with the fault.
