Product description

Rat IgG2b κ antibody targeting CD11b; fluorochrome-conjugated for flow cytometry; blocks adhesion and C3bi binding.

The BD Biosciences M1/70 monoclonal antibody is a rat-derived IgG2b κ antibody specifically targeting CD11b, also known as Integrin alpha M (Itgam or αM). This 170-kDa type 1 transmembrane glycoprotein is a component of the heterodimeric Mac-1 integrin (CD11b/CD18, αMβ2), also referred to as complement receptor 3 (CR3). Mac-1 plays a crucial role in mediating adhesion to ICAM-1 (CD54), ICAM-2 (CD102), fibrinogen, and binding to C3bi.

Key features of this antibody include:

  • Specificity: Recognises the αM chain of Mac-1, ensuring precise targeting of CD11b-expressing cells.
  • Versatility: Available conjugated to various fluorochromes, such as FITC, PE, APC, and Brilliant Violet 650, facilitating multi-colour flow cytometry applications.
  • Cross-reactivity: Reported to cross-react with human monocytes, polymorphonuclear leukocytes, and NK cells, expanding its utility across species.
  • Functional application: Capable of blocking cell adherence and C3bi binding, making it valuable for functional assays.

This antibody is widely used in immunology, cell biology, and biotechnology research, particularly in studies involving granulocytes, macrophages, dendritic cells, natural killer cells, microglia, and B-1 B lymphocytes. Its applications are prevalent in university laboratories, biomedical research centres, and clinical research institutions. The M1/70 clone has been a staple in research since its development and continues to be relevant in current scientific investigations.

Why Questpair exists

Lab equipment markets are fragmented. Buyers spend weeks calling distributors, comparing quotes, and verifying supplier reliability. Sellers struggle to reach global research labs.

We built Questpair to fix this. Every supplier on the platform is verified before listing. Every quote you receive comes from a real, vetted seller. AI prepares your case in minutes, then a real specialist takes over.

We're an independent team based in The Netherlands, working with research labs and procurement teams across Europe and worldwide.

Frequently asked questions

How long does laboratory equipment typically last?

With a service contract, ten to fifteen years is normal for most benchtop instruments. Detectors and pumps are the parts that wear first.

Can I get service for older equipment?

Often, yes. Verified suppliers frequently work with service partners converting the instrument. If applicable, we can list servicing options alongside the offer.

Where can I buy parts?

Ask a scientist through the request button. Parts are often available even when the instrument itself is discontinued.

What is the typical lead time for refurbished equipment?

Two to six weeks, depending on refurbishment scope and whether calibration is included.

Does laboratory equipment ship internationally?

We ship to 38 countries. Crating and customs handling are quoted with the instrument.
