Product description

24-vessel microscale bioreactor with automated liquid handling, pH/DO monitoring, and controlled agitation.

The Sartorius Stedim Ambr 15 Gen2 24-vessel microscale bioreactor system is a benchtop, parallel cell culture platform for small-volume bioprocess development and screening. It supports 24 parallel single-use microbioreactors arranged across two culture stations, with independent control of critical culture parameters.

  • Vessel capacity: 24 microbioreactors, configured as 2 stations × 12 vessels
  • Vessel format: Single-use vessels with 15 mL nominal format
  • Vessel total volume: 18 mL
  • Vessel working volume: 8–12 mL
  • Mixing: Orbital shaking with pitched-blade impellers; Rushton-style impellers may be used depending on vessel selection
  • Agitation speed: 150–2500 rpm
  • Temperature range: 33–40 °C, ±0.5 °C
  • Temperature shift rate: ≥5 °C per 30 minutes

Process Monitoring and Gas Control

The Ambr 15 system provides fluorescence-based spot measurement for pH and dissolved oxygen monitoring, supporting controlled cell culture process development, clone screening, and media optimization.

  • Gas supply: CO₂, O₂, and N₂
  • Maximum gas flow: ≤1 mL/min
  • pH set point range: 6.5–7.5
  • pH monitoring range: 6.0–8.0
  • pH accuracy: ±0.1 pH units
  • Dissolved oxygen range: 0–200% air saturation
  • DO accuracy: ±2% at 100% saturation
  • pH measurement technology: Fluorescence-based spot
  • DO measurement technology: Fluorescence-based optical spot

Automated Liquid Handling

Integrated liquid handling supports automated sampling, feeding, liquid exchange, and rapid vessel drain operations.

  • Disposable tip sizes: 1 mL and 5 mL
  • 1 mL tip working volume: 20–900 µL
  • 5 mL tip working volume: 0.5–4.0 mL
  • Rapid Vessel Drain minimum volume remaining: 0 mL
  • Passage culture minimum volume remaining: 2.5 mL
  • RVD and passage culture accuracy: ±10% at ≥2.5 mL

The system is suitable for cell line development, clone screening, feed strategy evaluation, process intensification, parallel cultivation, media optimization, and bioprocess development. It can generate scalable process data for larger bioreactor workflows and is relevant to biotechnology, biopharmaceutical production, and mammalian cell culture research.

Included with the system

  • AMBR-15 24-way system
  • PC loaded with control software
  • Power and communication cables

Condition and Testing

This pre-owned system was manufactured in 2021 and is described as fully functional, serviced, and in good cosmetic condition. Testing included liquid-handling self-test, aspiration and dispensing verification, robot arm operation, plate-lid removal, tip pick-up, rapid vessel drain, culture-station agitation, temperature control, pH monitoring, and dissolved oxygen monitoring.

*Consumable microbioreactor vessels are not included.*

Why Questpair exists

Lab equipment markets are fragmented. Buyers spend weeks calling distributors, comparing quotes, and verifying supplier reliability. Sellers struggle to reach global research labs.

We built Questpair to fix this. Every supplier on the platform is verified before listing. Every quote you receive comes from a real, vetted seller. AI prepares your case in minutes, then a real specialist takes over.

We're an independent team based in The Netherlands, working with research labs and procurement teams across Europe and worldwide.

Frequently asked questions

How long does laboratory equipment typically last?

With a service contract, ten to fifteen years is normal for most benchtop instruments. Detectors and pumps are the parts that wear first.

Can I get service for older equipment?

Yes. Every verified supplier states which service partners cover the instrument, and we list that alongside the offer.

Where can I buy parts?

Ask a scientist through the request button. Parts are often available even when the instrument itself is discontinued.

What is the typical lead time for refurbished equipment?

Two to six weeks, depending on refurbishment scope and whether calibration is included.

Does laboratory equipment ship internationally?

We ship to 38 countries. Crating and customs handling are quoted with the instrument.
