Accurate handheld photometer for nitrate-nitrogen measurements in water.
The Hanna Instruments HI 93728 is a reliable and precise nitrate-nitrogen photometer, ideal for accurate field measurements. The device is in full working condition and ready for immediate deployment. Nitrates, originating from organic matter decomposition or fertilizers, can transform into nitrites, posing health dangers. Regulatory guidelines are stringent, with maximum allowable levels set at 45 mg/L globally, 50 mg/L in Europe for potable water, and 10 mg/L nitrate nitrogen by the USA EPA, equivalent to 45 mg/L nitrates.
The HI 93728 photometer measures nitrogen nitrate ranging from 0 to 30 mg/L (NO₃-N), with the ability to convert readings into nitrate concentrations up to 133 mg/L using a multiplication factor of 4.43. Key features include a measurement range of 0.0 to 30.0 mg/L (NO₃-N), a resolution of 0.1 mg/L, and accuracy within ±0.5 mg/L ±10% of the reading. The unit is equipped with a 555 nm LED light source and a silicon photocell for light detection. It operates on a 9V battery allowing approximately 40 hours of continuous use. The device is adaptable, functioning in environments from 0 to 50°C (32 to 122°F) with a maximum relative humidity of 95% non-condensing. Compact yet robust, its dimensions are 180 x 83 x 46 mm (7.1 x 3.3 x 1.8 inches) and it weighs 290 g (10 oz.). The photometer utilizes the cadmium reduction method, generating an amber tint upon reaction with nitrate-nitrogen, facilitating straightforward and precise analysis.
Lab equipment markets are fragmented. Buyers spend weeks calling distributors, comparing quotes, and verifying supplier reliability. Sellers struggle to reach global research labs.
We built Questpair to fix this. Every supplier on the platform is verified before listing. Every quote you receive comes from a real, vetted seller. AI prepares your case in minutes, then a real specialist takes over.
We're an independent team based in The Netherlands, working with research labs and procurement teams across Europe and worldwide.
With a service contract, ten to fifteen years is normal for most benchtop instruments. Detectors and pumps are the parts that wear first.
Often, yes. Verified suppliers frequently work with service partners converting the instrument. If applicable, we can list servicing options alongside the offer.
Ask a scientist through the request button. Parts are often available even when the instrument itself is discontinued.
Two to six weeks, depending on refurbishment scope and whether calibration is included.
We ship to 38 countries. Crating and customs handling are quoted with the instrument.
Tell us what you need and a scientist finds it for you, usually within the hour.
