The A550 features motorized horizontal feed, retraction, and vertical cutting stroke, providing physical relief for users during intensive, long-term use. Additionally, the cutting stroke can be performed manually using the smooth-running handwheel, especially important for delicate cuts on fragile tissue samples. The handwheel can be conveniently locked at any position using a spring lever. This microtome boasts a high-precision mechanism developed and produced in Germany, ensuring maximum sectioning quality and consistent high sample throughput. The Microtome A550 impresses with its high functionality and aesthetically pleasing design, focused on optimal ease of use. Section-related settings are entered via an intuitive membrane keyboard with a digital display, featuring customizable background colors. The upper rotary push button allows switching between fine and coarse adjustments and menu navigation, while the middle rotary push button moves the specimen clamp back and forth. This can also be done using the keyboard. The sectioning speed is adjustable with the lower rotary push button, offering two different speeds for trimming and fine sectioning.
