The rotor is hermetically sealed, which helps to prevent contamination of samples and makes it easy to clean and maintain. The rotor has a maximum speed of 15,000 RPM (16,000 RPM with K models and 20,000 RPM with Z32-HK model only) and can generate a maximum relative centrifugal force (RCF) of 21,379 x g (24,325 x g with K models and 38,007 x g with Z32-HK model only). It has a capacity of 24 x 1.5/2.0ml tubes, and its 45° angle allows for efficient separation of samples. It should be noted that the rotor only reaches a maximum speed of 14,000 RPM when used with the Z307 centrifuge model. The EASYSOFT SXT2 consists of a plastic softener tank with internal water distributors. In the integ (more)rated salt storage vessel, brine is automatically prepared for the resin regenerations. Furthermore, the EASYSOFT SXT2 is equipped with an integrated double 3-way bypass valve for decommissioning the water softener while preserving the water supply. On the SXT2 version of this model, a fully automatic control valve (with built-in microprocessor) is mounted on the tank. This ensures the regeneration of the resin. The EASYSOFT SXT2 is also equipped with a mixing device integrated in the control valve to set a residual hardness. The regeneration of this microprocessor controlled water softener can be done in three ways: volume, time and a combination of the two. This system was removed from a lab as it was no longer required. It was in full working order prior  (more)to removal from the lab. An engineer from Pacific Biosciences prepared the system for removal from the lab, including removing all the systems cladding, but unfortunately had to cut a few cables between the main unit and the environmental chamber. Whilst the blade server is included with the system, it has been wiped, so software may need reinstalling if you intend to use the system in full again. Strangely the information plate on the back of the unit just says 'PacBio RS' and not 'PacBio RS II' as would be expected, but the lab called it an RS II, and the cladding on the front says RS II, so we presume this is RS II. The engineer said that whilst getting the unit up and running again might be difficult, there is an enormous value of the system in parts. Apparently the camera part alone cost £125k. We have not removed any parts from the system whatsoever.
