Product description

Gas station generating ultra-high purity hydrogen and zero air with triple filtration and PEM electrolysis for FID use.

The Parker Balston FID-1000-220 Gas Station is designed to supply ultra-high purity hydrogen and zero air for laboratory Flame Ionization Detectors (FID). Key technical features include:

  • Triple Filter System consisting of:
  • *Prefilter*: removes oil, water, and particles from compressed air using a robust filtration assembly with solenoid autodrain for automatic liquid elimination.
  • *Hydrocarbon Filter*: stainless steel housed catalyst module ensures hydrocarbon content below 0.1 ppm in zero air, delivering 1000 cc/min flow.
  • *Particle Filter*: sintered metal filter removing particulates > 0.5 microns.
  • Integral Deioniser Resin Cartridge for removing ionic contaminants.
  • Hydrogen Generation by PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane) electrolysis cell, providing safe and efficient production.
  • Desiccant Drying Bed for moisture removal achieving 99.9995% purity, with color-indicating desiccant beads changing from orange to clear to indicate saturation status.

This compact system eliminates the need for high-pressure gas cylinders by producing gases in-house, optimizing lab safety and operational efficiency with precise purification stages for both hydrogen and zero air.

Why Questpair exists

Lab equipment markets are fragmented. Buyers spend weeks calling distributors, comparing quotes, and verifying supplier reliability. Sellers struggle to reach global research labs.

We built Questpair to fix this. Every supplier on the platform is verified before listing. Every quote you receive comes from a real, vetted seller. AI prepares your case in minutes, then a real specialist takes over.

We're an independent team based in The Netherlands, working with research labs and procurement teams across Europe and worldwide.

Frequently asked questions

How long does laboratory equipment typically last?

With a service contract, ten to fifteen years is normal for most benchtop instruments. Detectors and pumps are the parts that wear first.

Can I get service for older equipment?

Often, yes. Verified suppliers frequently work with service partners converting the instrument. If applicable, we can list servicing options alongside the offer.

Where can I buy parts?

Ask a scientist through the request button. Parts are often available even when the instrument itself is discontinued.

What is the typical lead time for refurbished equipment?

Two to six weeks, depending on refurbishment scope and whether calibration is included.

Does laboratory equipment ship internationally?

We ship to 38 countries. Crating and customs handling are quoted with the instrument.
