Product description

Continuous GC-IMS analyzer for low-ppb, multi-component hazardous gas detection in ambient air.

The Environics-IUT ENVI-Air is a continuously operating GC-IMS gas analyzer for ultra-low-level detection of single- and multi-component hazardous gases in ambient air. It combines gas chromatography with ion mobility spectrometry to separate and identify compounds at concentrations from the low-ppb range to percentage levels.

  • Measurement principle: Gas Chromatography–Ion Mobility Spectrometry (GC-IMS)
  • Detection capability: Low-ppb sensitivity with measurement results available within seconds
  • Operation: Continuous monitoring with real-time response
  • Ionization: Tritium (³H); no license or wipe tests required
  • Humidity tolerance: 0% to 90% RH
  • Warm-up time: 20 minutes
  • Carrier gas: Not required
  • Operating temperature: -10°C to +50°C
  • Storage temperature: -40°C to +50°C
  • Power: 220 VAC / 19 VDC
  • Enclosure: 19-inch rack mount
  • Dimensions (L × W × H): 483 × 381 × 89 mm
  • Weight: 6.44 kg

The analyzer does not require paper tape, pre-concentrators, or chemical reagents. Its design is intended for low-maintenance operation and stable performance with limited susceptibility to humidity and temperature changes. The system is factory calibrated for the compounds of interest.

Measurable compounds include:

  • Ammonia, acetone, acrylonitrile, acetonitrile, arsine, benzyl chloride, bromine, chlorine, chlorocyanide, BTX, CMME, ethylene oxide, dibutyl phthalate (DMP), dimethyl sulfate, HFPO, hydrazine, hydrogen chloride, hydrogen bromide, hydrogen fluoride, hydrogen sulfide, TDI, methyl bromide, isopropyl alcohol, methyl iodide, nitrogen dioxide, NMP, PFIB, phosgene, phosphine, PGME, PGMEA, sulfur dioxide, triethylamine, and vinyl chloride.

Application areas:

  • Oil and gas production
  • Plastics manufacturing
  • Semiconductor fabrication
  • Chemical production
  • Pharmaceutical manufacturing
  • Gas pipeline safety
  • Medical sterilization
  • Primary metal processing

Included: Environics-IUT ENVI-Air GC-IMS analyzer and instruction manual.

The unit is described as cosmetically and operationally excellent, fully functional, tested, and ready for use.

Why Questpair exists

Lab equipment markets are fragmented. Buyers spend weeks calling distributors, comparing quotes, and verifying supplier reliability. Sellers struggle to reach global research labs.

We built Questpair to fix this. Every supplier on the platform is verified before listing. Every quote you receive comes from a real, vetted seller. AI prepares your case in minutes, then a real specialist takes over.

We're an independent team based in The Netherlands, working with research labs and procurement teams across Europe and worldwide.

Frequently asked questions

How long does laboratory equipment typically last?

With a service contract, ten to fifteen years is normal for most benchtop instruments. Detectors and pumps are the parts that wear first.

Can I get service for older equipment?

Yes. Every verified supplier states which service partners cover the instrument, and we list that alongside the offer.

Where can I buy parts?

Ask a scientist through the request button. Parts are often available even when the instrument itself is discontinued.

What is the typical lead time for refurbished equipment?

Two to six weeks, depending on refurbishment scope and whether calibration is included.

Does laboratory equipment ship internationally?

We ship to 38 countries. Crating and customs handling are quoted with the instrument.
