Product description

Rack-mount GC-IMS analyzer for real-time, low-ppb detection of hazardous gases in ambient air.

The Environics-IUT ENVI-Air is a continuously operating GC-IMS gas analyzer for real-time, ultra-low-level detection of single- or multi-component hazardous gases in ambient air. It combines gas chromatography (GC) with ion mobility spectrometry (IMS) to separate and identify compounds at concentrations from the low-ppb range to percent-level sensitivity.

  • Detection principle: Gas Chromatography–Ion Mobility Spectrometry (GC-IMS)
  • Sensitivity: Low ppb range
  • Measurement time: Seconds
  • Warm-up time: 20 minutes
  • Ionization: Tritium (3H); no license or wipe tests required
  • Humidity range: 0% to 90% RH
  • Operating temperature: -10°C to +50°C
  • Storage temperature: -40°C to +50°C
  • Power: 220 VAC/19 VDC
  • Carrier gas: Not required
  • Enclosure: 19-inch rack mount
  • Dimensions (L × W × H): 483 × 381 × 89 mm
  • Weight: 6.44 kg
  • Year of manufacture: 2012
  • Serial number: IM0911.120011

The analyzer does not require paper tape, pre-concentrators, or chemical reagents. Its GC-IMS architecture is designed for continuous operation with limited moving parts and low maintenance requirements. Factory calibration is available for compounds of interest, supporting hazardous-gas monitoring in demanding industrial environments.

Measurable compounds include:

  • Ammonia, acetone, acrylonitrile, acetonitrile, arsine, benzyl chloride
  • Bromine, chlorine, chlorocyanide, BTX, CMME, ethylene oxide
  • Dibutyl phthalate (DMP), dimethyl sulfate, HFPO, hydrazine
  • Hydrogen chloride, hydrogen bromide, hydrogen fluoride, hydrogen sulfide
  • TDI, methyl bromide, isopropyl alcohol, methyl iodide
  • Nitrogen dioxide, NMP, PFIB, phosgene, phosphine
  • PGME, PGMEA, sulfur dioxide, triethylamine, vinyl chloride

Typical applications include oil and gas production, gas pipeline safety, plastics manufacturing, semiconductor fabrication, chemical production, pharmaceutical manufacturing, medical sterilization, and primary metal processing. The system is suitable for hazardous-gas surveillance, industrial process safety, environmental monitoring, and molecular analysis workflows.

Items delivered:

  • Environics-IUT ENVI-Air GC-IMS gas analyzer
  • Instruction manual

Condition: Reported as cosmetically and operationally excellent, fully tested, functional, and ready for use.

Why Questpair exists

Lab equipment markets are fragmented. Buyers spend weeks calling distributors, comparing quotes, and verifying supplier reliability. Sellers struggle to reach global research labs.

We built Questpair to fix this. Every supplier on the platform is verified before listing. Every quote you receive comes from a real, vetted seller. AI prepares your case in minutes, then a real specialist takes over.

We're an independent team based in The Netherlands, working with research labs and procurement teams across Europe and worldwide.

Frequently asked questions

How long does laboratory equipment typically last?

With a service contract, ten to fifteen years is normal for most benchtop instruments. Detectors and pumps are the parts that wear first.

Can I get service for older equipment?

Often, yes. Verified suppliers frequently work with service partners converting the instrument. If applicable, we can list servicing options alongside the offer.

Where can I buy parts?

Ask a scientist through the request button. Parts are often available even when the instrument itself is discontinued.

What is the typical lead time for refurbished equipment?

Two to six weeks, depending on refurbishment scope and whether calibration is included.

Does laboratory equipment ship internationally?

We ship to 38 countries. Crating and customs handling are quoted with the instrument.
