Product description

Five-laser, 30-color, 32-detector flow cytometer with automated tube and microplate sampling.

The Agilent NovoCyte Penteon multicolor flow cytometer is configured with 5 lasers, 30 colors, and 32 detectors for high-parameter cell analysis. It is designed for immunophenotyping, rare-cell detection, intracellular and surface-marker analysis, apoptosis and viability studies, cell-cycle analysis, stem cell research, cancer research, biomarker discovery, and translational biology.

Optical Configuration

  • Laser allocation: UV/7, Violet/7, Blue/6, Yellow/6, and Red/4
  • Laser wavelengths: 349 nm UV, 405 nm violet, 488 nm blue, 561 nm yellow, and 637 nm red
  • Laser power: 349 nm at 20 mW; 405 nm, 488 nm, 561 nm, and 637 nm at 100 mW each
  • Laser beam profile: 10 × 60 µm elliptical beam
  • Solid-state lasers with onboard thermoelectric cooling for thermal stability and beam-quality control
  • Silicon photomultiplier (SiPM) fluorescence detection with an individual photodetector for each channel
  • FSC sensitivity: 0.4 µm
  • SSC sensitivity: 0.1 µm
  • Fluorescence threshold sensitivity: FITC ≤40 MESF, PE ≤10 MESF, APC ≤10 MESF, and Pacific Blue ≤30 MESF
  • Fluorescence resolution: <3% CV for CEN

Fluidics and Sample Handling

  • Sample acquisition rate: 100,000 events/second

  • Sample flow rate: 5 to 120 µL/min, continuously adjustable
  • Sheath flow rate: 6.5 mL/min
  • Sample acquisition volume: 5 µL to 5 mL
  • Manual sample formats: 12 × 75 mm tube and 1.5 mL Eppendorf tube
  • NovoSampler Q compatibility with a 40-tube rack for 12 × 75 mm tubes, 24-well, 48-well, 96-well flat/U/V-bottom, and 384-well microplates
  • Fluid-level sensing with weight sensors and automated warnings
  • Fluid container capacity: 3 L sheath, 3 L waste, 500 mL cleaning, and 500 mL rinse

Included Equipment and Software

  • Agilent NovoCyte Penteon flow cytometer
  • Agilent NovoSampler Q automated sampler
  • Agilent NovoCyte Fluidics Station II
  • Fluidics Station II bottles, caps, fluid harness, and cables
  • Desktop computer with NovoExpress software
  • De Novo FCS Express 7 Analysis software, 1-year Research Use Only (RUO) subscription
  • Communication and power cables

The NovoSampler Q supports automated, high-throughput tube and microplate workflows, while the Fluidics Station II provides fluid management and maintenance functions. The system is suitable for multiparameter cytometry workflows in immunology, biotechnology, molecular biology, cell biology, stem cell research, and biopharmaceutical development.

The instrument has undergone fluidics priming, cleaning, autosampler calibration, sensor verification, baseline testing with multi-peak beads, QC bead testing, and preventive maintenance. Calibration bead results, laser power stability, and instrument stress testing were also assessed.

Why Questpair exists

Lab equipment markets are fragmented. Buyers spend weeks calling distributors, comparing quotes, and verifying supplier reliability. Sellers struggle to reach global research labs.

We built Questpair to fix this. Every supplier on the platform is verified before listing. Every quote you receive comes from a real, vetted seller. AI prepares your case in minutes, then a real specialist takes over.

We're an independent team based in The Netherlands, working with research labs and procurement teams across Europe and worldwide.

Frequently asked questions

How long does laboratory equipment typically last?

With a service contract, ten to fifteen years is normal for most benchtop instruments. Detectors and pumps are the parts that wear first.

Can I get service for older equipment?

Often, yes. Verified suppliers frequently work with service partners converting the instrument. If applicable, we can list servicing options alongside the offer.

Where can I buy parts?

Ask a scientist through the request button. Parts are often available even when the instrument itself is discontinued.

What is the typical lead time for refurbished equipment?

Two to six weeks, depending on refurbishment scope and whether calibration is included.

Does laboratory equipment ship internationally?

We ship to 38 countries. Crating and customs handling are quoted with the instrument.
