Product description

Phosphor imaging scanner with 635 nm laser, PMT detection, 10–200 µm pixels, and integrated screen eraser.

The Cytiva Amersham Typhoon IP Phosphor Imaging FLA Scanner is a laser-based phosphor imaging system for quantitative and qualitative analysis of biomolecular samples. It is suited to molecular biology, proteomics, biotechnology, protein phosphorylation analysis, DNA/RNA gel imaging, and Western blot quantification.

Configuration and specifications

  • Imaging mode: Phosphor Imaging
  • Laser: 635 nm, 84 mW
  • Internal filter: IP (390BP)
  • Detector: Bi-alkali photomultiplier tube (PMT)
  • Measurable dynamic range: >5 orders of magnitude
  • Selectable pixel sizes: 10, 25, 50, 100, and 200 µm
  • Scanned image size: 35 × 43 cm
  • Phosphor screen erasing time: approximately 15 minutes
  • Eraser timer setting: 15–60 minutes

The system supports sensitive gel and blot imaging for applications including protein phosphorylation studies, DNA and RNA electrophoresis analysis, and quantitative Western blot workflows. Its broad dynamic range and selectable pixel size support both high-resolution imaging and quantitative signal measurement.

Included components

  • FLA Image Eraser
  • Exposure cassette
  • Computer running AT control software
  • IP/phosphor stage
  • Communication and power cables

The pre-owned instrument was tested for power-on initialization, software communication, door sensors, door interlocks, phosphor imaging, screen erasing, eraser power-on operation, and timer functionality.

Why Questpair exists

Lab equipment markets are fragmented. Buyers spend weeks calling distributors, comparing quotes, and verifying supplier reliability. Sellers struggle to reach global research labs.

We built Questpair to fix this. Every supplier on the platform is verified before listing. Every quote you receive comes from a real, vetted seller. AI prepares your case in minutes, then a real specialist takes over.

We're an independent team based in The Netherlands, working with research labs and procurement teams across Europe and worldwide.

Frequently asked questions

How long does laboratory equipment typically last?

With a service contract, ten to fifteen years is normal for most benchtop instruments. Detectors and pumps are the parts that wear first.

Can I get service for older equipment?

Often, yes. Verified suppliers frequently work with service partners converting the instrument. If applicable, we can list servicing options alongside the offer.

Where can I buy parts?

Ask a scientist through the request button. Parts are often available even when the instrument itself is discontinued.

What is the typical lead time for refurbished equipment?

Two to six weeks, depending on refurbishment scope and whether calibration is included.

Does laboratory equipment ship internationally?

We ship to 38 countries. Crating and customs handling are quoted with the instrument.
