Product description

Three-position magnetic stirrer with independent controls, 100–1500 rpm, and 1 L capacity per position.

The Stuart SB161-3 is a three-position magnetic stirrer designed for parallel sample preparation and mixing in chemical, biological, pharmaceutical, and analytical laboratories. Each stirring position has an independent rotary speed control, allowing different samples to be processed simultaneously at individual speeds.

  • Stirring positions: 3, independently controlled
  • Speed range: 100–1500 rpm
  • Maximum stirring volume: Approximately 1 L per position with water
  • Plate material: Aluminum alloy with a chemical-resistant coating
  • Controls: Separate rotary control for each position
  • Plate size per position: Approximately 120 × 120 mm
  • Overall dimensions: Approximately 450 × 190 × 90 mm (W × D × H)
  • Weight: Approximately 4.5 kg
  • Power supply: 230 V, 50/60 Hz
  • Housing: Metal with a slip-resistant, stable design
  • Ingress protection: IP32

The chemical-resistant surface is easy to clean and suitable for routine laboratory use. Typical applications include solution preparation, buffer preparation, sample homogenization, analytical workflows, cell culture media preparation, and general biotechnology mixing processes. The unit has been tested and is ready for operation.

Why Questpair exists

Lab equipment markets are fragmented. Buyers spend weeks calling distributors, comparing quotes, and verifying supplier reliability. Sellers struggle to reach global research labs.

We built Questpair to fix this. Every supplier on the platform is verified before listing. Every quote you receive comes from a real, vetted seller. AI prepares your case in minutes, then a real specialist takes over.

We're an independent team based in The Netherlands, working with research labs and procurement teams across Europe and worldwide.

Frequently asked questions

How long does laboratory equipment typically last?

With a service contract, ten to fifteen years is normal for most benchtop instruments. Detectors and pumps are the parts that wear first.

Can I get service for older equipment?

Often, yes. Verified suppliers frequently work with service partners converting the instrument. If applicable, we can list servicing options alongside the offer.

Where can I buy parts?

Ask a scientist through the request button. Parts are often available even when the instrument itself is discontinued.

What is the typical lead time for refurbished equipment?

Two to six weeks, depending on refurbishment scope and whether calibration is included.

Does laboratory equipment ship internationally?

We ship to 38 countries. Crating and customs handling are quoted with the instrument.
