Product description

0.8 mm yttrium-stabilized zirconia grinding media for high-energy ball and wet milling applications.

Tosoh YTZ high wear-resistant zirconia grinding media are spherical yttrium-stabilized zirconium dioxide (Y-TZP) beads designed for demanding milling and dispersion applications. The 0.8 mm media provide high density, fracture toughness, and chemical resistance for efficient fine grinding with minimal wear.

  • Material: Yttrium-stabilized zirconium dioxide (Y-TZP)
  • Bead diameter: 0.8 mm
  • Total quantity: 5 kg
  • Shape: Spherical, with high dimensional consistency
  • Color: White
  • Density: Approximately 6.0 g/cm³
  • Hardness: >1200 HV (Vickers)
  • Fracture toughness: >10 MPa·m½
  • Compressibility: Very high, suitable for high-speed milling
  • Chemical resistance: Excellent resistance to acids, bases, and solvents

These zirconia grinding beads are suitable for high-energy ball mills, stirred-media mills, and wet grinding systems used in chemical processing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, paints and coatings, nanotechnology, and materials research. Typical applications include dispersion, fine grinding, colloidal milling, and processing of nanomaterials. They can support demanding biotechnology workflows involving formulation, particle-size reduction, and advanced materials preparation.

The grinding media are supplied new and unused, stored in cool, dry conditions, and provided in their original packaging.

Why Questpair exists

Lab equipment markets are fragmented. Buyers spend weeks calling distributors, comparing quotes, and verifying supplier reliability. Sellers struggle to reach global research labs.

We built Questpair to fix this. Every supplier on the platform is verified before listing. Every quote you receive comes from a real, vetted seller. AI prepares your case in minutes, then a real specialist takes over.

We're an independent team based in The Netherlands, working with research labs and procurement teams across Europe and worldwide.

Frequently asked questions

How long does laboratory equipment typically last?

With a service contract, ten to fifteen years is normal for most benchtop instruments. Detectors and pumps are the parts that wear first.

Can I get service for older equipment?

Often, yes. Verified suppliers frequently work with service partners converting the instrument. If applicable, we can list servicing options alongside the offer.

Where can I buy parts?

Ask a scientist through the request button. Parts are often available even when the instrument itself is discontinued.

What is the typical lead time for refurbished equipment?

Two to six weeks, depending on refurbishment scope and whether calibration is included.

Does laboratory equipment ship internationally?

We ship to 38 countries. Crating and customs handling are quoted with the instrument.
