  • Illumination: Built-in reflected-light path with a 100 W halogen lamp and power supply 232
  • Reflective filter turret: Motorized 6-position turret
  • Reflective filter cubes: Brightfield and darkfield
  • Objective turret: Motorized 6-position turret
  • Objectives:
  • Epiplan-Neofluar HD 5x 0.15
  • Epiplan-Neofluar HD 10x c.30
  • Epiplan-Neofluar HD 20x 0.5 DIC
  • Stage: Motorized XY stage with joystick control, wellplate adapter, and slide adapter
  • Camera ports: 50% eyepiece and 50% camera
  • Camera: Bestscope 8.3MP color CMOS camera
  • Computer: Dell laptop with Windows 11

The motorized system provides automated objective selection, reflective filter positioning, shutter operation, XY stage movement, and software-controlled digital image acquisition. Imaging functions include still-image capture, live video, annotation, measurement, time-lapse acquisition, Z-stack imaging, XY stitching, mosaic imaging, and automated multidimensional acquisition through Micro-Manager.

This reflected-light metallurgical microscope is suitable for metal microstructure analysis, thin-film and coating inspection, semiconductor defect evaluation, additive manufacturing surface inspection, geological polished sections, and automotive component failure analysis. The configuration may be customized with alternative CCD, sCMOS, or EMCCD cameras, LED or metal-halide illumination, phase contrast, polarization, DIC, higher-magnification objectives, or Fluor and APO objectives.

Why Questpair exists

Lab equipment markets are fragmented. Buyers spend weeks calling distributors, comparing quotes, and verifying supplier reliability. Sellers struggle to reach global research labs.

We built Questpair to fix this. Every supplier on the platform is verified before listing. Every quote you receive comes from a real, vetted seller. AI prepares your case in minutes, then a real specialist takes over.

We're an independent team based in The Netherlands, working with research labs and procurement teams across Europe and worldwide.

Frequently asked questions

How long does laboratory equipment typically last?

With a service contract, ten to fifteen years is normal for most benchtop instruments. Detectors and pumps are the parts that wear first.

Can I get service for older equipment?

Yes. Every verified supplier states which service partners cover the instrument, and we list that alongside the offer.

Where can I buy parts?

Ask a scientist through the request button. Parts are often available even when the instrument itself is discontinued.

What is the typical lead time for refurbished equipment?

Two to six weeks, depending on refurbishment scope and whether calibration is included.

Does laboratory equipment ship internationally?

We ship to 38 countries. Crating and customs handling are quoted with the instrument.
