The Phadia 1000 from Thermo Fisher Scientific is an in vitro diagnostic device designed for the quantitative measurement of allergen-specific IgE in human serum or plasma. This advanced immunoassay analyzer aids in the clinical diagnosis of IgE-mediated allergic disorders, providing vital information when combined with other clinical findings. Intended for use in clinical laboratories, this system utilizes ImmunoCAP technology, where the allergen of interest is covalently attached and reacts with specific IgE in patient samples. Non-specific IgE is washed away before enzyme-labeled antibodies against IgE are added to form complexes. After incubation, unbound enzymes are removed, and a developing agent is used to measure fluorescence levels. Higher fluorescence indicates greater concentrations of specific IgE, which is calculated using a calibration curve to accurately interpret results.
