Incorporating three key xMAP Technologies, the Luminex 100 System utilizes xMAP microspheres—fluorescently dyed, micron-sized polystyrene microspheres used as identifiers and solid assay surfaces. The system's core, the Luminex 100 analyzer, features essential xMAP detection components such as lasers, optics, fluidics, and high-speed digital signal processors. The accompanying xPONENT Software facilitates protocol-based data acquisition and robust data regression analysis.
Capable of multiplexing up to 100 analytes per sample (80 on MagPlex microspheres) with a typical dynamic range of ≥3.5 logs, the Luminex 100 processes a 96-well plate in under 45 minutes, enabling up to 12,800 tests per hour. The system also features efficient daily start-up and shut-down procedures, taking 30 minutes or less.
