The Biobase BK-FD50/100 Series large freeze dryers are designed for semi-industrial laboratory applications, providing superior performance and versatility. Available in standard (BK-FD50S and BK-FD100S) and stoppering models (BK-FD50T and BK-FD100T), these units feature a cold trap with a lowest temperature of -80°C and adjustable shelf temperatures ranging from -50°C to +70°C. With capabilities for pre-freezing and drying within the same chamber, they maintain a vacuum of less than 0.1 mBar. The BK-FD50 comes with an 18 L cold trap and captures up to 8 kg of water per 24 hours, while the BK-FD100 has a 35 L cold trap and captures up to 15 kg. Each model offers a liquid capacity of 8 L and 16 L respectively. Equipped with 4+1 shelves heated by silicone oil, each shelf measures 305 x 455 x 17 mm. The units offer user-friendly operation with a touch-screen LCD and one-month data logging capabilities, alongside a USB port for data export. A high-capacity vacuum pump of 29/54 m³/h is included. Pricing is specified for the BK-FD50S model, with variations available upon inquiry.

Why Questpair exists

Lab equipment markets are fragmented. Buyers spend weeks calling distributors, comparing quotes, and verifying supplier reliability. Sellers struggle to reach global research labs.

We built Questpair to fix this. Every supplier on the platform is verified before listing. Every quote you receive comes from a real, vetted seller. AI prepares your case in minutes, then a real specialist takes over.

We're an independent team based in The Netherlands, working with research labs and procurement teams across Europe and worldwide.

Frequently asked questions

How long does laboratory equipment typically last?

With a service contract, ten to fifteen years is normal for most benchtop instruments. Detectors and pumps are the parts that wear first.

Can I get service for older equipment?

Often, yes. Verified suppliers frequently work with service partners converting the instrument. If applicable, we can list servicing options alongside the offer.

Where can I buy parts?

Ask a scientist through the request button. Parts are often available even when the instrument itself is discontinued.

What is the typical lead time for refurbished equipment?

Two to six weeks, depending on refurbishment scope and whether calibration is included.

Does laboratory equipment ship internationally?

We ship to 38 countries. Crating and customs handling are quoted with the instrument.
