The Thermo Scientific Biofuge Primo R is a refrigerated centrifuge that offers a wide temperature range from -9°C to 40°C and achieves speeds of up to 15,000 rpm, depending on the rotor selected. It comes equipped with a 7591 floating rotor, four 7555 vessels with lids, and adapters for three 15 mL Falcon-type tubes, delivering a maximum speed of 4,000 rpm. This centrifuge features microprocessor control with a touch keyboard for precise variable speed, RCF, and time settings. It ensures short braking and acceleration times with its maintenance-free brushless induction motor. Operating quietly at less than 62 dB, this centrifuge includes a user manual for ease of use.
The Biofuge Primo R is perfect for small medical labs, as well as biochemistry and molecular biology research. It fits well in routine analysis settings within industrial laboratories. Typical applications encompass sedimentation of cells such as algae, yeast, and bacteria, sedimentation of cell organelles and fragments, sample preparation for DNA and protein precipitates, blood and urine analysis, and centrifugation of standard test series in microliter tubes.
