Product description

High-resolution Earth observation satellites with 1.5m panchromatic and 6m multispectral optical imaging.

SPOT 6/7 are advanced Earth observation satellites developed by Airbus Defence and Space, launched in 2012 and 2014, respectively. These satellites provide high-resolution optical imagery, delivering 1.5-metre panchromatic and 6-metre multispectral data across blue, green, red, and near-infrared bands. Operating in phased orbits, they offer daily revisits to any point on the globe, capturing up to 6 million square kilometres per satellite per day.

Key features include:

  • High-resolution imaging: 1.5-metre panchromatic and 6-metre multispectral resolution for detailed Earth observation.
  • Wide swath width: 60 km at nadir, enabling large-area coverage in a single pass.
  • Multispectral capabilities: Four spectral bands (blue, green, red, near-infrared) for diverse analytical applications.
  • Daily revisit: Ensures up-to-date monitoring of any location worldwide.
  • Stereo and tri-stereo imaging: Supports 3D modelling and precise topographic mapping.

These capabilities make the satellites invaluable in various scientific fields, including agriculture, urban planning, environmental monitoring, and forestry. They are widely utilised by institutions such as biotechnology firms, research laboratories, government agencies, and environmental organisations for applications like crop monitoring, land use planning, and ecosystem assessment.

Since their launch, SPOT 6/7 have remained operational, continuing to provide critical data for a wide range of applications.

Why Questpair exists

Lab equipment markets are fragmented. Buyers spend weeks calling distributors, comparing quotes, and verifying supplier reliability. Sellers struggle to reach global research labs.

We built Questpair to fix this. Every supplier on the platform is verified before listing. Every quote you receive comes from a real, vetted seller. AI prepares your case in minutes, then a real specialist takes over.

We're an independent team based in The Netherlands, working with research labs and procurement teams across Europe and worldwide.

Frequently asked questions

How long does laboratory equipment typically last?

With a service contract, ten to fifteen years is normal for most benchtop instruments. Detectors and pumps are the parts that wear first.

Can I get service for older equipment?

Often, yes. Verified suppliers frequently work with service partners converting the instrument. If applicable, we can list servicing options alongside the offer.

Where can I buy parts?

Ask a scientist through the request button. Parts are often available even when the instrument itself is discontinued.

What is the typical lead time for refurbished equipment?

Two to six weeks, depending on refurbishment scope and whether calibration is included.

Does laboratory equipment ship internationally?

We ship to 38 countries. Crating and customs handling are quoted with the instrument.
