Product description

Smart ITR accessory with germanium plate for 2–4 µL FT-IR analysis of solids, powders, and pastes.

The Thermo Scientific 222-289600 Smart ITR is an internal reflection accessory for compatible Thermo Nicolet FT-IR spectrometers. It uses a built-in germanium (Ge) plate for compact, efficient sampling through internal total reflection, equivalent to an ATR measurement configuration.

  • Designed for solid samples, powders, viscous liquids, pastes, polymer films, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), cosmetic powders, and food waxes
  • Requires only a small sample volume of approximately 2–4 µL
  • Germanium crystal plate with an approximate diameter of 10 mm
  • Supports stable mid-infrared measurements across approximately 650–4000 cm⁻¹
  • Features an L-shaped germanium disk with defined reflection planes
  • Connects directly to the FT-IR optical path through a plug interface
  • Compatible with Thermo Nicolet Nexus, iS, and FTIR-i series spectrometers
  • Module dimensions: approximately 130 × 70 × 50 mm
  • Weight: approximately 400 g
  • Construction: germanium crystal and anodized aluminum housing
  • Suitable for rapid routine analysis and qualitative secondary analysis in spectroscopy, pharmaceutical research, polymer characterization, and materials testing

This used Smart ITR module is described as being in very good condition and has been cleaned and tested.

Why Questpair exists

Lab equipment markets are fragmented. Buyers spend weeks calling distributors, comparing quotes, and verifying supplier reliability. Sellers struggle to reach global research labs.

We built Questpair to fix this. Every supplier on the platform is verified before listing. Every quote you receive comes from a real, vetted seller. AI prepares your case in minutes, then a real specialist takes over.

We're an independent team based in The Netherlands, working with research labs and procurement teams across Europe and worldwide.

Frequently asked questions

How long does laboratory equipment typically last?

With a service contract, ten to fifteen years is normal for most benchtop instruments. Detectors and pumps are the parts that wear first.

Can I get service for older equipment?

Often, yes. Verified suppliers frequently work with service partners converting the instrument. If applicable, we can list servicing options alongside the offer.

Where can I buy parts?

Ask a scientist through the request button. Parts are often available even when the instrument itself is discontinued.

What is the typical lead time for refurbished equipment?

Two to six weeks, depending on refurbishment scope and whether calibration is included.

Does laboratory equipment ship internationally?

We ship to 38 countries. Crating and customs handling are quoted with the instrument.
