Product description

Serviced Olympus IX70 inverted fluorescence microscope with brightfield, metal halide illumination, camera, and new filters.

The Olympus IX70 inverted fluorescence microscope is a serviced research microscope configured for brightfield and fluorescence imaging of biological specimens, cells, tissues, and other samples. Its inverted platform is suitable for live-cell imaging, cell biology, neuroscience, immunology, pharmacology, biotechnology, and molecular biology workflows.

Included Configuration

  • Microscope base: Olympus IX70 inverted base with side camera port and mechanical Z-axis
  • Microscope head: Binocular head with two eyepieces
  • Fluorescence illumination: EXFO X-Cite 120W metal halide light source, liquid light guide, and collimating adapter
  • Fluorescence filter turret: Mechanical 4-position filter cube turret
  • Fluorescence filters: Three new filter sets selected from:
  • DAPI: excitation 365/28 nm, dichroic mirror 405 nm, emission 445/50 nm; compatible with DAPI, Hoechst, and AlexaFluor 350
  • EGFP/FITC/Cy2: excitation 475/30 nm, dichroic mirror 500 nm, emission 530/40 nm; compatible with EGFP, FITC, Cy2, and AlexaFluor 488
  • TRITC/Cy3/DsRed: excitation 545/20 nm, dichroic mirror 562 nm, emission 605/60 nm; compatible with TRITC, Cy3, RFP, rhodamine, and AlexaFluor 546
  • Texas Red: excitation 560/20 nm, dichroic mirror 585 nm, emission 630/40 nm; compatible with Texas Red, mCherry, and AlexaFluor 594
  • Cy5: excitation 630/50 nm, dichroic mirror 662 nm, emission 695/50 nm; compatible with Cy5, AlexaFluor 647, and Draq5. This filter set may require an upgraded light source.
  • Brightfield illumination: Illumination tower with Olympus 100W halogen light source and integrated power supply
  • Objective turret: Mechanical 6-position objective turret
  • Objectives: UplanFL 4x, UplanFL 10x, UplanFL 20x, and UplanFL 40x
  • Condenser: Mechanical condenser
  • Stage: Mechanical XY stage
  • Camera ports: 100% eyepiece / 0% camera, 20% eyepiece / 80% camera, or 0% eyepiece / 100% camera
  • Camera adapter: 1x C-mount adapter
  • Digital camera: Bestscope 8.3MP color CMOS camera
  • Computer and software: Dell laptop with Windows 10, ImageJ analysis software, and camera software
  • Accessories: Required power and communication cables

The imaging system supports still-image and live-video acquisition, raster image display, annotation, editing, calibration, measurement, analysis, processing, printing, and saving. Variable linear measurements include line segments, radius values, and other measurement tools.

The Olympus IX70 is widely used for fluorescent labeling, cellular structure analysis, drug-response studies, tissue imaging, and biotechnology applications such as genetic engineering and molecular biology research. The platform can also be configured for phase contrast, differential interference contrast (DIC), polarization, higher magnification, additional fluorescence filter cubes, alternative xenon or LED light sources, advanced CCD, scientific complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (sCMOS), or electron-multiplying CCD (EMCCD) cameras, and motorized automation.

The listed unit includes a mechanical stage rather than a motorized stage. Custom configurations may support magnifications from 40x to 1000x with 10x eyepieces, motorized XY stages, motorized high-speed shutters, and sample formats including slides, Petri dishes, and microplates. Final capabilities depend on the selected configuration.

Why Questpair exists

Lab equipment markets are fragmented. Buyers spend weeks calling distributors, comparing quotes, and verifying supplier reliability. Sellers struggle to reach global research labs.

We built Questpair to fix this. Every supplier on the platform is verified before listing. Every quote you receive comes from a real, vetted seller. AI prepares your case in minutes, then a real specialist takes over.

We're an independent team based in The Netherlands, working with research labs and procurement teams across Europe and worldwide.

Frequently asked questions

How long does laboratory equipment typically last?

With a service contract, ten to fifteen years is normal for most benchtop instruments. Detectors and pumps are the parts that wear first.

Can I get service for older equipment?

Often, yes. Verified suppliers frequently work with service partners converting the instrument. If applicable, we can list servicing options alongside the offer.

Where can I buy parts?

Ask a scientist through the request button. Parts are often available even when the instrument itself is discontinued.

What is the typical lead time for refurbished equipment?

Two to six weeks, depending on refurbishment scope and whether calibration is included.

Does laboratory equipment ship internationally?

We ship to 38 countries. Crating and customs handling are quoted with the instrument.
