Product description

Techne 3Prime thermal cycler with color touchscreen, USB transfer, 4 to 100 °C block range, 1000 program memory and tested used operation.

The Techne 3Prime thermal cycler is a PCR instrument for temperature controlled amplification workflows in molecular biology. It uses a programmable block with heating, cooling and heated lid control.

The unit includes the supplied block configuration shown in the product images. A color touchscreen provides program setup and control. The built in USB port transfers programs and data to other instruments or a PC. A power cable and manual are included.

The used unit was acquired from a laboratory in the UK. It was tested after receipt and is working properly.

The Techne 3Prime thermal cycler provides programmable temperature control for PCR amplification and molecular biology workflows.

What these specifications mean

The 30 to 80 °C gradient range supports comparison of annealing temperatures within a single PCR optimization run. The adjustable gradient spans from 1 to 30 °C, allowing temperature separation to be selected for the method.

The 4 to 100 °C block range covers the temperature control required for standard thermal cycling protocols. A maximum heating rate of 3.0 °C per second and maximum cooling rate of 2.1 °C per second support programmed transitions between cycle steps.

Why Questpair exists

Lab equipment markets are fragmented. Buyers spend weeks calling distributors, comparing quotes, and verifying supplier reliability. Sellers struggle to reach global research labs.

We built Questpair to fix this. Every supplier on the platform is verified before listing. Every quote you receive comes from a real, vetted seller. AI prepares your case in minutes, then a real specialist takes over.

We're an independent team based in The Netherlands, working with research labs and procurement teams across Europe and worldwide.

Frequently asked questions

How long does laboratory equipment typically last?

With a service contract, ten to fifteen years is normal for most benchtop instruments. Detectors and pumps are the parts that wear first.

Can I get service for older equipment?

Often, yes. Verified suppliers frequently work with service partners converting the instrument. If applicable, we can list servicing options alongside the offer.

Where can I buy parts?

Ask a scientist through the request button. Parts are often available even when the instrument itself is discontinued.

What is the typical lead time for refurbished equipment?

Two to six weeks, depending on refurbishment scope and whether calibration is included.

Does laboratory equipment ship internationally?

We ship to 38 countries. Crating and customs handling are quoted with the instrument.
