Product description

Sigma 6-16K refrigerated centrifuge with Sigma 11150 swing-out rotor, buckets and adapters for biological sample preparation.

The Sigma 6-16K refrigerated centrifuge supports centrifugation and biological sample preparation involving samples, tubes, microplates and other laboratory vessels according to the installed rotor, buckets and adapters.

This unit includes a Sigma 11150 swing-out rotor with buckets, carriers and adapters as pictured. The swing-out rotor provides the installed vessel support for the included configuration. The rotor is marked for a maximum speed of 5100 rpm and a maximum load of 4 x 2000 g.

The used centrifuge was tested and is in good operational state. The control unit is identified as Spincontrol Comfort or Professional.

The Sigma 6-16K is a refrigerated laboratory centrifuge for sample preparation in microbiology, molecular biology and biotechnology laboratories. The unit supports programmable centrifugation parameters and has a large rotor chamber.

What these specifications mean

The centrifuge provides a speed range up to 15,000 rpm, but the supplied Sigma 11150 rotor is marked for up to 5100 rpm. The installed rotor therefore sets the usable speed and load limits for this configuration rather than the centrifuge’s full drive range.

The temperature setting range of -20 to +40 degrees C supports refrigerated and above-ambient centrifugation protocols. Rotor temperature control during standstill helps maintain the selected rotor temperature while the rotor is stopped.

Why Questpair exists

Lab equipment markets are fragmented. Buyers spend weeks calling distributors, comparing quotes, and verifying supplier reliability. Sellers struggle to reach global research labs.

We built Questpair to fix this. Every supplier on the platform is verified before listing. Every quote you receive comes from a real, vetted seller. AI prepares your case in minutes, then a real specialist takes over.

We're an independent team based in The Netherlands, working with research labs and procurement teams across Europe and worldwide.

Frequently asked questions

How long does laboratory equipment typically last?

With a service contract, ten to fifteen years is normal for most benchtop instruments. Detectors and pumps are the parts that wear first.

Can I get service for older equipment?

Often, yes. Verified suppliers frequently work with service partners converting the instrument. If applicable, we can list servicing options alongside the offer.

Where can I buy parts?

Ask a scientist through the request button. Parts are often available even when the instrument itself is discontinued.

What is the typical lead time for refurbished equipment?

Two to six weeks, depending on refurbishment scope and whether calibration is included.

Does laboratory equipment ship internationally?

We ship to 38 countries. Crating and customs handling are quoted with the instrument.
