Product description

FluidX X-Cap microplate capper for 96 format tube racks, semi-automatic sealing, two adapters, and 20 to 30 second cycles.

The FluidX X-Cap microplate capper is a semi-automatic tube sealing system for 96-well format racks used in sample storage, biobanks and compound libraries.

This unit includes two adapters for FluidX tube racks. It seals microtubes and microplates with TPE septum cap mats. The TubeLock functionality supports tube rack sealing. Compatible formats include Micronic tubes with TPE cap mats, Matrix Technologies tubes with Sepra seals and Abgene sealing mats.

The used unit has been tested with a tube rack and cap mat. It is in good working order. A capping cycle takes 20 to 30 seconds, depending on tube type.

FluidX X-Cap microplate capper

The FluidX X-Cap provides electronic semi-automatic sealing for microtubes and microplates arranged in 96-well format racks. It is used for sample storage in biotechnology and life sciences laboratories, including biobanks, compound libraries and other high-throughput storage applications.

Configuration and compatibility

  • Two adapters for FluidX tube racks are included.
  • The system supports TPE septum cap mats.
  • TubeLock functionality is included.
  • Compatible tube and cap formats include FluidX sample storage tubes, Micronic tubes with TPE cap mats, Matrix Technologies tubes with Sepra seals and Abgene sealing mats.
  • Adjustable capping depth uses spacer plates to accommodate different tube types.
  • Full and partially full racks can be sealed.

Operation

A rack is placed in the X-Cap drawer with the cap mat positioned on top. Closing the drawer starts the capping cycle automatically. The drawer opens after cap insertion is complete, allowing removal of the sealed rack.

The unit is used and has been tested with a tube rack and cap mat. It is in good working order. Cycle time is 20 to 30 seconds, depending on tube type.

What these specifications mean

The adjustable capping depth allows the X-Cap to accommodate different tube types. Spacer plates set the capping depth and support sealing of full or partially full racks.

The broad cap compatibility covers FluidX 96 format sample storage tubes with TPE septum caps, Micronic tubes with TPE cap mats, Matrix Technologies tubes with Sepra seals and Abgene sealing mats. The 20 to 30 second cycle time supports repeated rack sealing, with the exact time depending on tube type.

Why Questpair exists

Lab equipment markets are fragmented. Buyers spend weeks calling distributors, comparing quotes, and verifying supplier reliability. Sellers struggle to reach global research labs.

We built Questpair to fix this. Every supplier on the platform is verified before listing. Every quote you receive comes from a real, vetted seller. AI prepares your case in minutes, then a real specialist takes over.

We're an independent team based in The Netherlands, working with research labs and procurement teams across Europe and worldwide.

Frequently asked questions

How long does laboratory equipment typically last?

With a service contract, ten to fifteen years is normal for most benchtop instruments. Detectors and pumps are the parts that wear first.

Can I get service for older equipment?

Often, yes. Verified suppliers frequently work with service partners converting the instrument. If applicable, we can list servicing options alongside the offer.

Where can I buy parts?

Ask a scientist through the request button. Parts are often available even when the instrument itself is discontinued.

What is the typical lead time for refurbished equipment?

Two to six weeks, depending on refurbishment scope and whether calibration is included.

Does laboratory equipment ship internationally?

We ship to 38 countries. Crating and customs handling are quoted with the instrument.
