Product description

Used spectrophotometer cuvettes in quartz or optical glass for UV, visible, DNA, RNA and protein analysis, with varied volumes.

These used spectrophotometer cuvettes hold samples for spectroscopic analysis in spectrophotometers, luminometers and fluorimeters. They support visible range colorimetric assays and UV analysis of DNA, RNA and proteins in molecular biology laboratories.

The cuvettes are available in quartz or optical glass. Quartz supports measurements at wavelengths below 200 nm. Optical glass is intended for visible range measurements and provides improved transmission in the near ultraviolet range.

The used cuvettes are checked for sustained damage. Cuvette selection depends on the sample type, instrument compatibility, light path, height and volume.

Application

These used cuvettes hold samples for:

  • Spectrophotometric analysis
  • Fluorescence measurements
  • Luminometry
  • Visible range colorimetric assays
  • UV analysis of DNA, RNA and proteins
  • Molecular biology laboratory workflows

Materials

  • Quartz consists exclusively of silicon dioxide, SiO2. It provides high UV transmission below 200 nm and more than 80% transmission from 200 to 2500 nm for an empty cell.
  • Optical glass is manufactured from high-purity raw materials. It is used in the visible range and provides more than 80% transmission from 320 to 2500 nm for an empty cell.
  • Quartz has a thermal expansion coefficient of 6 x 10^-7 K^-1 between 20 and 300 degrees C.
  • Quartz maintains its shape at temperatures up to approximately 1000 degrees C and provides chemical resistance.
  • QS identifies quartz windows made from high-purity, homogeneous quartz.
  • OS identifies optical glass.

Cuvette Sizes

  • Semi-micro cuvettes accommodate sample volumes from 1.5 to 3.0 mL.
  • Macro cuvettes are intended for samples larger than 2.5 mL.
  • Ultra-micro cuvettes support sample volumes as low as 70 µL.

The used cuvettes are checked for sustained damage. Available characteristics include material, cuvette type, light path, height and volume.

What these specifications mean

Quartz and optical glass suit different spectral requirements. Quartz provides high UV transmission below 200 nm, while optical glass is used in the visible range and provides improved near ultraviolet transmission.

The available size categories match different sample volumes. Semi-micro cuvettes accommodate 1.5 to 3.0 mL, macro cuvettes are intended for samples above 2.5 mL, and ultra-micro cuvettes support volumes as low as 70 µL.

Why Questpair exists

Lab equipment markets are fragmented. Buyers spend weeks calling distributors, comparing quotes, and verifying supplier reliability. Sellers struggle to reach global research labs.

We built Questpair to fix this. Every supplier on the platform is verified before listing. Every quote you receive comes from a real, vetted seller. AI prepares your case in minutes, then a real specialist takes over.

We're an independent team based in The Netherlands, working with research labs and procurement teams across Europe and worldwide.

Frequently asked questions

How long does laboratory equipment typically last?

With a service contract, ten to fifteen years is normal for most benchtop instruments. Detectors and pumps are the parts that wear first.

Can I get service for older equipment?

Often, yes. Verified suppliers frequently work with service partners converting the instrument. If applicable, we can list servicing options alongside the offer.

Where can I buy parts?

Ask a scientist through the request button. Parts are often available even when the instrument itself is discontinued.

What is the typical lead time for refurbished equipment?

Two to six weeks, depending on refurbishment scope and whether calibration is included.

Does laboratory equipment ship internationally?

We ship to 38 countries. Crating and customs handling are quoted with the instrument.
