Product description

Preassembled Hydra Big Blue DI system delivers >10 MΩ·cm high purity deionized water via 3-stage filtration.

The Hydra Big Blue High Purity DI System is a preassembled cartridge-based water purification system designed for laboratory and biotechnological applications requiring ultrapure deionized water. This system utilizes a three-stage filtration process:

  • Stage 1: A 4½" x 10" carbon cartridge removes particles above 5 microns, chlorine, and organic contaminants essential for protecting downstream deionization.
  • Stages 2 & 3: Two 4½" x 20" high purity mixed bed deionizer cartridges remove dissolved mineral ions, producing water with resistivity better than 10 MegOhm·cm.

Key features include:

  • Integrated 200 kΩ·cm resistivity light for real-time water quality monitoring.
  • Complete ¾" fitting and tubing kit for straightforward installation.
  • All filter housings preassembled on a sturdy wall-mount bracket, optimizing laboratory space.

This system is essential for molecular diagnostics, bioprocessing workflows, and biomanufacturing pipelines where high-purity water supports sensitive assays and culture preparations. It provides critical ultrapure water quality widely adopted in synthetic biology research and clinical diagnostics requiring rigorous contamination control.

The Hydra Big Blue DI System enables consistent delivery of ultrapure water, making it a reliable choice for biotechnology laboratories, pharmaceutical quality control, and live-cell imaging preparations that demand contaminant-free water critical in experimental reproducibility.

Why Questpair exists

Lab equipment markets are fragmented. Buyers spend weeks calling distributors, comparing quotes, and verifying supplier reliability. Sellers struggle to reach global research labs.

We built Questpair to fix this. Every supplier on the platform is verified before listing. Every quote you receive comes from a real, vetted seller. AI prepares your case in minutes, then a real specialist takes over.

We're an independent team based in The Netherlands, working with research labs and procurement teams across Europe and worldwide.

Frequently asked questions

How long does laboratory equipment typically last?

With a service contract, ten to fifteen years is normal for most benchtop instruments. Detectors and pumps are the parts that wear first.

Can I get service for older equipment?

Yes. Every verified supplier states which service partners cover the instrument, and we list that alongside the offer.

Where can I buy parts?

Ask a scientist through the request button. Parts are often available even when the instrument itself is discontinued.

What is the typical lead time for refurbished equipment?

Two to six weeks, depending on refurbishment scope and whether calibration is included.

Does laboratory equipment ship internationally?

We ship to 38 countries. Crating and customs handling are quoted with the instrument.
