Product description

The Velp ECODryBlock is a modular, high-precision digital dry block heater engineered for uniform, stable, and reproducible temperature control across multiple samples. It supports a wide temperature range up to 165 °C, making it suitable for applications in molecular biology, biochemistry, microbiology, clinical diagnostics, environmental studies, and chemical oxygen demand (COD) analysis.

Key technical features include:

  • Modular design: One ControlPad manages up to two independent heating modules, each supporting two interchangeable aluminum blocks, allowing simultaneous operation at different temperatures.
  • Interchangeable aluminum blocks: Adaptable to various vessels such as vials, microcentrifuge tubes, PCR tubes, PCR strips, Greiner tubes, microplates, and cuvettes, providing maximum versatility for diverse biotechnology workflows.
  • COD 24 System block: Designed for 24 wells of 16 mm round-bottom tubes with 47 mm depth, ideal for COD digestion and extraction assays requiring precise thermal regulation.
  • Transparent lid: Enables even heat distribution by creating a warm air cushion, reducing heat loss and temperature stratification, while allowing sample monitoring without lid removal to maintain thermal stability.
  • User interface: Features a 7" capacitive touch screen ControlPad with a chemical-resistant glass surface, intuitive navigation, and independently adjustable temperature and timer settings per module with 0.5 °C resolution.
  • External temperature probes: Compatible with Pt100 and Pt1000 sensors for direct, high-accuracy temperature measurement inside samples during critical molecular diagnostics and bioprocessing applications.
  • Wireless connectivity and compact ergonomics reduce clutter and optimize lab workspace adaptability.
  • Applications: Essential for enzyme reactions, DNA/RNA denaturation, incubation, molecular cloning, synthetic biology, immunoassays (ELISA), SDS-PAGE sample prep, environmental water quality testing (COD), and clinical analyses.

The ECODryBlock system meets the stringent needs of biotechnological research and environmental labs by offering precise, reproducible thermal conditions critical in bioprocessing, molecular diagnostics, and biochemical assays typical of modern life science laboratories.

Why Questpair exists

Lab equipment markets are fragmented. Buyers spend weeks calling distributors, comparing quotes, and verifying supplier reliability. Sellers struggle to reach global research labs.

We built Questpair to fix this. Every supplier on the platform is verified before listing. Every quote you receive comes from a real, vetted seller. AI prepares your case in minutes, then a real specialist takes over.

We're an independent team based in The Netherlands, working with research labs and procurement teams across Europe and worldwide.

Frequently asked questions

How long does laboratory equipment typically last?

With a service contract, ten to fifteen years is normal for most benchtop instruments. Detectors and pumps are the parts that wear first.

Can I get service for older equipment?

Often, yes. Verified suppliers frequently work with service partners converting the instrument. If applicable, we can list servicing options alongside the offer.

Where can I buy parts?

Ask a scientist through the request button. Parts are often available even when the instrument itself is discontinued.

What is the typical lead time for refurbished equipment?

Two to six weeks, depending on refurbishment scope and whether calibration is included.

Does laboratory equipment ship internationally?

We ship to 38 countries. Crating and customs handling are quoted with the instrument.
