Product description

Binocular brightfield microscope B-380 with PLAN objectives up to 1000x, LED Koehler illumination, ideal for biotech research.

The ALC B-380 is a binocular brightfield microscope designed for advanced laboratory imaging, providing up to 1000x magnification with a set of PLAN objectives including 4x, 10x, 40x, and 100x oil/water immersion lenses. The binocular head is inclined at 30°, with a 360° rotation feature when unplugged, and supports interpupillary distance adjustment from 48 to 75 mm with dioptric correction on the left eyepiece.

Key technical features include:

  • High-eyepoint WF10x/20 mm eyepieces secured by screws for stable observation.
  • Quintuple revolving nosepiece on ball bearings for smooth objective switching.
  • Double-layer rackless mechanical stage with 150x139 mm size and 75x33 mm X-Y range for precise specimen positioning in cell imaging and biotechnology workflows.
  • Coaxial coarse and fine focusing with adjustable tension and a limit stop to protect objectives and specimens during focusing.
  • The Abbe condenser with N.A. 1.25 features a focusable and centerable iris diaphragm, coded to objectives for optimized illumination.

Illumination is provided by a Fixed Koehler X-LED3 system with a 3.6 W white LED (6300K) and brightness control, powered by a 100-240 Vac/6 Vdc external supply. The system includes an ALC function that enhances image clarity and contrast essential for molecular diagnostics and synthetic biology research.

This microscope is well-suited for biotechnology research domains such as molecular diagnostics, live-cell imaging, and bioprocessing, offering reliable performance for detailed brightfield observations critical in gene editing and biomanufacturing pipelines.

Why Questpair exists

Lab equipment markets are fragmented. Buyers spend weeks calling distributors, comparing quotes, and verifying supplier reliability. Sellers struggle to reach global research labs.

We built Questpair to fix this. Every supplier on the platform is verified before listing. Every quote you receive comes from a real, vetted seller. AI prepares your case in minutes, then a real specialist takes over.

We're an independent team based in The Netherlands, working with research labs and procurement teams across Europe and worldwide.

Frequently asked questions

How long does laboratory equipment typically last?

With a service contract, ten to fifteen years is normal for most benchtop instruments. Detectors and pumps are the parts that wear first.

Can I get service for older equipment?

Yes. Every verified supplier states which service partners cover the instrument, and we list that alongside the offer.

Where can I buy parts?

Ask a scientist through the request button. Parts are often available even when the instrument itself is discontinued.

What is the typical lead time for refurbished equipment?

Two to six weeks, depending on refurbishment scope and whether calibration is included.

Does laboratory equipment ship internationally?

We ship to 38 countries. Crating and customs handling are quoted with the instrument.
