Product description

Agilent 7890B gas chromatograph with PAL GC-XT autosampler, Gerstel CIS-4 injector and MAS C506 controller for automated trace analysis.

The Agilent 7890B gas chromatograph is a laboratory gas chromatography system for trace analysis in environmental, food, petrochemical and pharmaceutical laboratories. It supports capillary, packed and microbore columns.

The system includes a PAL GC-XT autosampler and a Gerstel MAS C506 controller for automated liquid, headspace and SPME injections. A standard split/splitless injector supports conventional injection. The Gerstel CIS-4 cooled injection system adds PTV techniques including cold injection and large volume injection.

The unit is used and in good condition. It was previously connected to a Waters Autospec Premier. The opening on the right side of the gas chromatograph will be closed before shipment.

Configuration

This Agilent 7890B gas chromatograph is configured with:

  • PAL GC-XT autosampler
  • Gerstel MAS C506 controller
  • Standard split/splitless injector
  • Gerstel CIS-4 cooled injection system
  • Electronic pressure control for carrier gas management

The PAL GC-XT autosampler supports automated liquid, headspace and SPME injections. The Gerstel CIS-4 supports cooled PTV injection techniques, including cold injection and large volume injection.

Technical specifications

  • Oven temperature range: ambient +4 degrees C to 450 degrees C
  • Programmable ramp rates up to 120 degrees C per minute
  • Detector support: FID, TCD, ECD, NPD and MS coupling
  • Column compatibility: capillary, packed and microbore columns
  • Control software: Agilent ChemStation or OpenLab CDS
  • Dimensions: approximately 60 x 50 x 50 cm
  • Weight: approximately 40 kg

The used unit comes from a research institute in the Netherlands and was previously connected to a Waters Autospec Premier. The right side opening created for that connection will be closed before shipment.

What these specifications mean

The injector configuration covers both standard split/splitless injection and PTV injection. This supports conventional sample introduction alongside cold injection and large volume injection techniques.

The detector support includes FID, TCD, ECD and NPD, with MS coupling also specified. These detector options accommodate different gas chromatography detection requirements, although the installed detector configuration is not specified.

Why Questpair exists

Lab equipment markets are fragmented. Buyers spend weeks calling distributors, comparing quotes, and verifying supplier reliability. Sellers struggle to reach global research labs.

We built Questpair to fix this. Every supplier on the platform is verified before listing. Every quote you receive comes from a real, vetted seller. AI prepares your case in minutes, then a real specialist takes over.

We're an independent team based in The Netherlands, working with research labs and procurement teams across Europe and worldwide.

Frequently asked questions

How long does laboratory equipment typically last?

With a service contract, ten to fifteen years is normal for most benchtop instruments. Detectors and pumps are the parts that wear first.

Can I get service for older equipment?

Often, yes. Verified suppliers frequently work with service partners converting the instrument. If applicable, we can list servicing options alongside the offer.

Where can I buy parts?

Ask a scientist through the request button. Parts are often available even when the instrument itself is discontinued.

What is the typical lead time for refurbished equipment?

Two to six weeks, depending on refurbishment scope and whether calibration is included.

Does laboratory equipment ship internationally?

We ship to 38 countries. Crating and customs handling are quoted with the instrument.
