Product description

Automated single-cell seeding, clonality verification, and high-contrast imaging for cell line development.

The Solentim Cell Metric VIPS + CLD system combines automated single-cell dispensing, in-situ clonality verification, cell growth monitoring, and high-contrast plate imaging in one workflow. It is designed for cell line development, monoclonality assurance, clone selection, biopharmaceutical research, and bioprocess development.

Cell Metric VIPS Single-Cell Seeding System

  • Low-pressure nanoliter droplet dispensing at less than 1 psi for gentle handling of fragile and high-value cells, including iPSCs, CHO cells, and HEK293 cells.
  • Automated single-cell dispensing into 96-well plates.
  • In-well Z-stack imaging at 20 focal positions per well.
  • Whole-plate laser focus scanning compensates for plate contour variations and supports imaging near well edges.
  • Two-step clonality assurance:
  • Immediate confirmation of single-cell seeding after dispensing.
  • Daily imaging of clonal outgrowth during the growth phase.
  • Automated in-line media dispensing after seeding and imaging.
  • Integrated VIPS wash station for cleaning and sterilization between projects.
  • Automated X-Y stage positioning for repeatable plate processing.
  • Patented microfluidic single-cell dispensing technology for cell culture and cloning workflows.

Cell Metric CLD High-Contrast Imager

  • Automated plate handling with a temperature-controlled stacker.
  • 10-plate cassette for unattended batch loading and scanning.
  • Supported plate formats include 96-well plates, including BD Falcon 96, BD Falcon 96 TC Treated, Corning CellBIND, Corning 96, Eppendorf 96 Clear, Greiner Cellstar 6 Clear, Nunc 96 black wall, and TPP 96 Well Clear.
  • Manual scan modes for 6-, 12-, 24-, and 48-well plates.
  • Laser wavelength: 650 nm.
  • Maximum average power: 850 µW.
  • Objective magnification: 10x.
  • Whole-plate image storage: approximately 150 MB.
  • Typical 14-day project data storage: approximately 3 GB.

Included Equipment and Software

  • Cell Metric VIPS single-cell seeding system.
  • VIPS wash station.
  • Cell Metric CLD high-contrast imager.
  • Cell Metric plate loader with a 10-plate cassette.
  • Computer with VIPS Seeding Software and Cell Metrics software.
  • 24 V power supply.
  • Power and communication cables.
  • Software licenses for cell growth monitoring, clonality verification, proliferation monitoring, instrument control, results viewing, automatic cassette operation, clonality reporting, and VIPS results import.

This system supports single-cell cloning, cell proliferation tracking, colony assessment, image documentation, and process optimization. It is suitable for biotechnology and molecular biology laboratories working on therapeutic protein production, biomanufacturing, cell culture development, and high-throughput clone screening.

The pre-owned system was manufactured in 2022 and tested by an in-house service team. Testing included system initialization, seeding performance, pump operation, X-Y stage positioning, camera response, image acquisition, plate transfer, carrier movement, computer communication, and temperature-control operation.

Note: The cell reservoir is a consumable and is not included. Separate VIPS single-cell seeder consumables, cell growth supplements, and matrices are required for operation.

Why Questpair exists

Lab equipment markets are fragmented. Buyers spend weeks calling distributors, comparing quotes, and verifying supplier reliability. Sellers struggle to reach global research labs.

We built Questpair to fix this. Every supplier on the platform is verified before listing. Every quote you receive comes from a real, vetted seller. AI prepares your case in minutes, then a real specialist takes over.

We're an independent team based in The Netherlands, working with research labs and procurement teams across Europe and worldwide.

Frequently asked questions

How long does laboratory equipment typically last?

With a service contract, ten to fifteen years is normal for most benchtop instruments. Detectors and pumps are the parts that wear first.

Can I get service for older equipment?

Yes. Every verified supplier states which service partners cover the instrument, and we list that alongside the offer.

Where can I buy parts?

Ask a scientist through the request button. Parts are often available even when the instrument itself is discontinued.

What is the typical lead time for refurbished equipment?

Two to six weeks, depending on refurbishment scope and whether calibration is included.

Does laboratory equipment ship internationally?

We ship to 38 countries. Crating and customs handling are quoted with the instrument.
