A short while ago, we launched our marketplace for scientific equipment, services, materials and other related items. We strive to attract a variety of different manufacturers and suppliers to create a heterogeneous offering that benefits experts from all disciplines and sectors in industry and scientific research. We are proud to write about the first listings of scientific instruments on QuestPair. Read more on how to sign up for QuestPair and list your items here.
DataPhysics Instruments
The chemical and physical properties of surfaces and interfaces are of paramount importance in the development and manufacturing of countless products ranging from formulations in foods and cosmetics to coatings and paints and biomedical applications. DataPhysics Instruments is providing equipment to measure and analyse surface and interface properties. Amongst their products are contact angle goniometers, tensiometers, zeta-potential and surface-profile analysers and humidity generators.
FORTH & University of Crete
Prof. Petekidis et al. (FORTH & University of Crete) have developed a Small angle Light scattering/ imaging add-on device for the (Malvern) Kinexus rheometer. The device performs Small Angle Light Scattering (SALS) measurements, using polarized (VV) or depolarized geometry (VH), combined with rheology. It can be adapted to perform microscopy, diffusing wave spectroscopy (DWS), dynamic light scattering under shear and LS-echo measurements. This model is a modular accessory to the Kinexus rheometer (NETZSCH Instruments).
The devices are manufactured on demand. More details and specifications are listed here.
Pharsol
Scientists working with vials kept at cryogenic temperatures know how much of a hassle it can be to take those out of from cold storage. To tackle this problem, Pharsol Ltd have listed a unique device that makes it easier to lift cold vials and move them more easily around the laboratory.
Jointlab
Scientific research requires a variety of instruments and kit such as weighing scales, centrifuges, heaters and coolers, pumps and stirrers. Jointlab is a webshop based in Italy that offers a wide range of laboratory equipment. Besides analytical instruments their assortment includes various thermostats and different types of electronic scales and refrigerators.
Lightnovo
Lightnovo is a company founded by scientists that makes state-of-the-art Raman spectrometers (including miniaturised ones) and other specialised laser-based industry solutions and optical products. An overview of scientific publications related to their technology can be found here.
LabMakelaar
What happens to scientific instruments when they are no longer or rarely used? Sadly, often the answer is: nothing. Tens of thousands of research institutes and companies around the world have storage rooms full of scientific equipment that is long forgotten. Wouldn’t it be much better if these items could have a second life? Besides, it could offer great new opportunities for organisations with a smaller budget for research and laboratory equipment.
LabMakelaar strives for a world with a strong circular economy in which companies get easy access to a total solution for furnishing and equipment of their laboratory with good quality and recycled material. Used equipment that is bought by LabMakelaar is cleaned, repaired (if needed) and tested to bring it in a condition where it can be readily used again. Besides standard items such as scales and balances, LabMakelaar also offers unique pieces of equipment that are no longer in production or can otherwise be hard to find.
Future plans
We intend to give periodic updates on organisations and groups that list new equipment, materials, services or other scientific items on the QuestPair marketplace. If you are listing items and would like us to incorporate some specific information in our blog, feel free to contact us. We want to become a place to find all the equipment you ever looked for as a scientist, engineer or project manager involved in research and development.
