To make QuestPair a great platform for businesses and scientific experts we have listened to your suggestions and incorporated the feedback we have received as fast and as well as we could. Some users have suggested simple changes, such as adding languages or adding features to improve their experience as clients or experts. Other requests required more development and therefore are taking longer to implement. We are still a relatively small team and have to prioritize. But this does not mean you should refrain from suggesting new ideas, even ambitious ones – we love it!
Below you can find a short description of the features introduced by the new QuestPair version, and some clues about our plans for the near future.
Switching roles
It is now possible to switch roles between client and expert users. If you signed up as an expert, you can add a client role and vice versa. In practice this means that you can navigate QuestPair in both of these roles and switch between them. So you can both offer your expertise as a scientist or engineer and hire somebody else to work on your project. The possibility to switch role removes the need to create two separate accounts.
News feeds & tutorials
We added a news feed where we will post news & updates. The goal is to give users a better experience and provide information about relevant topics, e.g. those relating to scientific research, engineering, and consultancy. To help users to navigate QuestPair, we are also adding new video tutorials.
Funding calls
Both experts as well as companies have indicated it can be tricky to find up-to-date overviews of funding calls. We are now showing funding calls on the dashboard, with direct links to pages with more information. We are super excited about the new Horizon Europe programme. For now, we mainly show EU funding calls, but as soon as we can we may extend this with other information in the future. If you are a government or funding organisation and would like to advertise your funding calls, please let us know here.
Scientific marketplace
We have our eyes set on a marketplace where it is easy to sell and buy new or second-hand scientific equipment. Feel free to create items (components) in your dashboard and assign the type “Facilities & Equipment”. Soon it will be possible to advertise them on the QuestPair marketplace. If you are reading this as a company selling specialist equipment or as an equipment manager and have any suggestions, please contact us here and we will get in touch with you as soon as we can.
Consultancy and Research projects
Sometimes companies ask us if they can also post small projects. The answer is yes! It can also be interesting to scientists and engineers to provide consultancy in a shorter projects. For example, we have recently posted a blog article on scientific expert reviewing, which can be a useful and a great experience for companies and scientists alike.
