Bio-Rad DCode Universal Mutation Detection System-cover
Bio-Rad DCode Universal Mutation Detection System

The search for unknown mutations in genomic DNA is important for studying the genetic basis of disea (more)ses and disorders, including cancer. Additionally, examining DNA polymorphisms is useful for ecological and evolutionary studies of terrestrial, marine, and microbial organisms, with applications ranging from species identification to delineation of population structure to monitoring genetic diversity. The DCode universal mutation detection system can scan for single-base changes by any of the following electrophoretic techniques: Single-stranded conformation polymorphism (SSCP) Denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE) Constant denaturing gel electrophoresis (CDGE) Temporal temperature gradient gel electrophoresis (TTGE) Flexible and powerful, the DCode system is the one electrophoresis system that can perform any combination of these techniques. At the center of the system is the temperature control module (which includes a microprocessor-controlled heater, a buffer-recirculating pump, and a stirrer). For techniques requiring accurate temperature control, such as SSCP and TTGE, the gels are immersed in the buffer, and temperatures are regulated between 5° and 70°C. Any run temperature below ambient can be achieved with the cooling tank used in conjunction with an external laboratory chiller. The DCode system can run 64 samples in as little as 2 hours — a major consideration when you’re screening DNA for sequence variations. You can configure your DCode system to grow as your needs grow. Each system includes a vertical electrophoresis cell and choice of adaptor kits for SSCP, DGGE, and CDGE, as well as for TTGE, a technique codeveloped by Bio-Rad. TTGE has all the benefits of DGGE and CDGE without chemical denaturant gradients. Glass plates: 200 x 200 mm Gel sizes: 160 x 200 mm (maximum two per run) Heater and control: Temperature control (PID type) ±0.5°C variation within gel area, ±0.5°C actual in the range of 45 – 70°C Dimensions (WxDxH): 390 x 200 x 420 mm Weight: 16 kg

Invitrogen Qubit 3.0 Fluorometer-cover
Invitrogen Qubit 3.0 Fluorometer

The Qubit 3.0 Fluorometer is a benchtop fluorometer that can be used for the quantitation of DNA, RN (more)A, microRNA, and protein using the highly sensitive and accurate fluorescence-based Qubit quantitation assays. Fast and highly accurate quantitation of DNA, RNA, and protein in less than 5 seconds per sample. High levels of accuracy using only 1 – 20 μL of sample, even with very dilute samples. Use of dyes selective for dsDNA, RNA, or protein minimizes the effects of contaminants in the sample. Stores results from up to 1000 samples. Large, state-of-the-art color touch screen for easy workflow navigation. Graphically displays up to 20 data points. Instrument indicates samples that are in the extended range or out of range in the graph, as well as in the simple sample output screen. Saves sample data as a.CSV (comma separated value) file. Exports data to a USB drive or directly to your computer via a USB cable. Allows easy definition and saving of assay preferences. Instrument user interface can be personalized to show only the frequently used assays, to add new assays, including user-defined assays created with the MyQubit software and web tool, and to display in the language of your choice including English, French, Spanish, Italian, German, simplified Chinese and Japanese. Dynamic range: 5 orders of magnitude Processing time: ≤ 5 seconds/sample Light sources: Blue LED (max ~470 nm), Red LED (max ~635 nm) Excitation filters: Blue 430–495 nm, Red 600–645 nm Emission filters: Green 510–580 nm, Red 665–720 nm Detectors: Photodiodes; measurement capability from 300–1000 nm Calibration type: 2- or 3-point standard Tube type: 0.5-mL Real Time PCR (polypropylene) tubes Warm-up time: < 35 seconds
