Rotary evaporators

Rotary evaporators are used to evaporate solvents from a mixture, often with the goal to remove organic solvents. There are different types, most of them are made up of a heating source, a large rotating round-bottom flask containing the mixture and a condenser connected to another flask to collect the solvent. Often rotary evaporators also have the option to connect to a vacuum pump to lower the pressure in the syst (more)em and thus lower the boiling point of the solvents to be removed.
