MA X2.IC.A moisture analyzers are hi-tech measuring instruments intended for quick determination of relative moisture content, dry mass content and other parameters in samples of different substances.


MA.X2.IC.A series


is equipped with innovative system: the drying chamber can be opened and closed automatically using button or proximity sensors.

MA.X2.IC.A maximum capacity ranges from 50g/0.1mg to 210g/0.1mg. Moisture content is measured with the 0.01% accuracy (0.001 % for samples bigger than 1.5g). The maximum drying temperature is 160˚C (there is an optional

moisture analyzer with 250˚C maximum temperature).


An additional element for moisture analyzers that improves their functionality is a water vapour permeability determination set used in tanning industry for determining hygienic properties of leather.

The results obtained using the moisture analyzer (the final result of the drying process):


% M – the mass loss in %; displays the mass change recorded during the drying process, expressed as a percentage,


% D – the dry mass obtained during the drying process, expressed as a percentage; the result is the portion of the sample that remains on the weighing pan after the moisture has evaporated,


% R – the ratio of moisture content to dry mass, obtained during the drying process, expressed as a percentage; the result is the portion of the sample that evaporated during the drying process,


g – the sample mass after drying.

If so, learn about the functionality of the ELLIPSIS series of moisture analyzers: It Dries in 4 Ways The MA 5Y Moisture Analyzer offers you four drying profiles: standard, mild, fast and step. The standard profile is the usually used drying profile. It allows the most accurate determination of moisture content. The mild profile is designed for drying substances that are sensitive to the rapid heat released by the filaments, which heat full power at the initial stage of the process. An example of such a substance is leather. You will use the fast profile for samples with significant moisture content – of the order of even several tens of percent. The step profile will be ideal for drying substances that contain more than 15 percent moisture. Within this profile you can define any three temperatures. You will choose the values of temperature and duration of heating experimentally. What Drying Temperature Should I Set? The drying temperature determines the duration of the process. Its value depends on the type of material. If the temperature is too low, it will under-dry the sample and, consequently, unnecessarily increase the measurement time, while if it is too high, it will cause a burning effect on the material. The drying temperature for the traditional (oven) method is determined by industry or factory standards. If there are no standards, you will select the temperature experimentally. The maximum drying temperature on the MA 5Y Moisture Analyzer is 160°C. How Do I Finish the Drying? In 4 Ways The MA 5Y Moisture Analyzer has four finish modes: automatic, manual, time-defined and user-defined. Automatic mode You define the moisture loss limit value in 60 seconds. When the moisture analyzer reaches the set criterion, the measurement will automatically end. Manual mode You terminate the measurement yourself by pressing the STOP button. Time-defined mode The measurement ends after the set time has elapsed regardless of the result. You have up to 99 hours 59 minutes to manage! User-defined mode When you remove all volatiles from a sample, by definition, its mass should be constant. During drying, the dry mass of the sample is defined by a condition: if the mass of the sample is stable within 1 mg during the observation time (Auto 1-5), we consider that all volatile components have been removed from its structure. The new ETHOS X for the Microwave Green Extraction of Natural Products is available in two different (more) and interchangeable configurations, for fragrances and flavors. The ETHOS X takes advantage of a unique microwave selective heating mechanism to produce effective and consistent results time and time again. The fragrances configuration is based on the solvent-free microwave extraction (SFME) technology for the rapid extraction of essential oils from aromatic herbs, spices and dry seeds. The method involves placing a sample in the microwave reactor. A cooling system outside the microwave continuously condenses the vapors which are collected in a fragrances glassware. The excess of water is refluxed back to the extraction vessel to restore the in-situ water of the sample. The flavors configuration is based on the microwave hydro-diffusion and gravity technology (MHG), a new and green method of essential oils extraction from various aromatic plants. The microwave hydro-diffusion and gravity technology (MHG) combines microwave heating and earth gravity at atmospheric pressure to allow flavors to diffuse outside the plant material. Outside of the microwave oven a cooling system continuously condenses the extract.
