Spectrophotometers (UV-Vis, Fluor)

UV-Vis spectrophotometers are devices that are used measure the transmission and/or reflection spectrum of samples using ultraviolet and visible light. The spectra measured with UV-Vis spectrometers can be used to characterise materials and identify substances or components. UV/Vis spectroscopy is commonly used in chemistry laboratories to qualitatively determine the presence of transition metal ions, conjugated orga (more)nic compounds, and biological macromolecules or to quantify the concentration of a known compound in a solution.
