The 3M Air-Mate HEPA PAPR system integrates the blower, NIOSH-approved HEPA filter, and battery into a lightweight, belt-mounted unit designed for respiratory protection against airborne particulates. Commonly utilized in healthcare settings and public health applications, the system includes:
- Blower Unit: Belt-mounted, lightweight; houses motor, HEPA filter (99.97% efficiency at 0.3 microns), and rechargeable battery
- Head Cover/Hood: Made from Tychem QC, offers wide field of vision and directs positive airflow into breathing zone; compatible with facial hair and glasses (faceseal not obstructed)
- Breathing Tube: Connects blower unit to head cover/hood for air delivery
- Battery: Rechargeable either internally or with external charger (not included), providing up to 8 hours of service per charge
- Belt: Vinyl, facilitating easy decontamination and cleaning
