All systems are delivered with warranty!   VICI PDDs (pulsed discharge detectors) utilize a stable, low powered, pulsed DC discharge in helium as an ionization source. Eluants from the column, flowing counter to the flow of helium from the discharge zone, are ionized by photons from the helium discharge. The bias electrode(s) focus the resulting electrons toward the collector electrode, where they cause changes in the standing current which are quantified as the detector output. Performance is equal to or better than detectors with conventional radioactive sources. In the electron capture mode, the PDD is a selective detector for monitoring high electron affinity compounds such as freons, chlorinated pesticides, and other halogen compounds. For this type of compound, the minimum detectable quantity (MDQ) is at the femtogram (10-15) or picogram (10-12) level. The PDD is similar in sensitivity and response characteristics to a conventional radioactive ECD, and can be operated at temperatures up to 400°C. For operation in this mode, He and CH4 are introduced just upstream from the column exit. In the helium photoionization mode, the PDD is a universal, non-destructive, high sensitivity detector. The response to both inorganic and organic compounds is linear over a wide range. Response to fixed gases is positive (increase in standing current), with an MDQ in the low ppb range. The PDD in helium photoionization mode is an excellent replacement for flame ionization detectors in petrochemical or refinery environments, where the flame and use of hydrogen can be problematic. In addition, when the helium discharge gas is doped with a suitable noble gas, such as argon, krypton, or xenon (depending on the desired cutoff point), the PDD can function as a specific photoionization detector for selective determination of aliphatics, aromatics, amines, as well as other species. Reason for return - Investigate faults and re-list accordingly: - We received the item with a cracke (more)d glass piece to the photoionization detector. We replaced it with a piece that was provided. - We piped the system with N2 carrier gas and gas lines carrying product to the inlet of the GC. We turned on the switch to the Photoionization detector, under high sensitivity, and can visibly see it turn on. The source is aligned. The detector is aligned.  - We programmed the event on the software to turn the valve of the 10-way valve accordingly to enable the carrier gas to bring the product through the GC. - We introduced acetone via the sample loop (inlet gas) - we saw no peaks. We introduced acetone via injection - we saw no peaks.  - I leaked checked the piping including within the detector - no issues. I checked the point of outlets to make sure flow is continuous too - no issues. - The mechanism of the valve turning - it made a cranky sound, and I am not convinced it is turning the valve.  - There may be two issues. I had figured it was the valve so I tried injecting acetone directly into the line, but we could not see any peak of acetone. (Issues with the detector?) I am not sure if the valve's squeaking/cranky sound implies it is turning but there might be an issue here too. This SRI 8610C GC Gas Chromatograph System was removed from a university lab where it was surplus to requirements. The unit powers up but we were unable to test it further at our facility. The lab did confirm however, that is in good working order. It is in very good cosmetic condition with only very minor marks from use.

HOUSING High IP rating and stainless steel facilitate operation of the terminal in challenging working conditions (high humidity, dustiness). With these two characteristics the terminal meets high hygiene standards for food and pharmaceutical industries. The terminal’s housing and base are made of stainless steel. All the HY10 connectors are fed through glands, this along with water and dust proof housing guarantee high IP rating, IP68/69. 2-point terminal-base fixing system allows limit-free LCD tilt.
