Avantes HortiSpec+ Spectrometer System

The Avantes HortiSpec+ Spectrometer System is meticulously engineered for accurately measuring light intensity and spectral distribution in the visible and NIR range, specifically within greenhouse environments. This system is crucial for optimizing plant growth and photosynthesis, which are heavily dependent on light intensity and its spectral composition.

Equipped with the NR Lite2 Net Radiometer probe, the HortiSpec+ facilitates the measurement of net radiation, which is the balance of incoming and outgoing radiation in outdoor settings. The unique design of the NR Lite2 features a double-sided detector with black conical absorbers that have an anti-stick, weather-resistant protective coating, eliminating the need for fragile plastic domes and ensuring low-maintenance operation.

The spectrometer component, AvaSpec – 2048, includes a CCD linear array with 2048 pixels, a Grating VA, and covers a wavelength range of 300 to 1100 nm. It features a 200 µm slit with a detector collection lens and an order sorting coating for enhanced precision. Data communication is facilitated via USB 2.0 at 480 mbps, and the system includes a diffusor aperture with a diameter of 3.9 mm.

The accompanying HortiSpec Irradiance software enables measurement in units of photon flux (µmol/s.m²) and provides parameters such as Lux, PAR, and spectral components like Blue, Yellow/Green, Red, and Far Red. The specifications of the NR Lite2 include a spectral range of 0.2 to 100 µm, a sensitivity of 10 µV/W/m², a response time of less than 20 seconds, and an operational temperature range of -30°C to +70°C.
