The Unitron Versamet 4 is an inverted metallurgical microscope designed for multiple observation techniques including:

- Polarized light and Differential Interference Contrast (DIC)

- Advanced Long Working Distance (LWD) M Infinity Plan Achromatic optics
- Objectives: 5x, 10x, 20x Plan Achromat and semi-Apochromatic 50x metallurgical
- Widefield 10x/22mm eyepieces with eye cushions
- Encoded quintuple nosepiece with DIC slot
Viewing Head and Controls:
- Trinocular viewing head inclined at 45°
- Viewing split options: 100%/0% or 0%/100% light distribution
- Interpupillary distance adjustable from 50mm to 75mm
- Low-position focus knobs with coaxial fine (0.002mm precision) and coarse (9mm range) focusing system
- Three-layer mechanical stage (240mm x 250mm) with 50mm (X) x 50mm (Y) movement
- Vernier scales for precise X-Y measurement
- Right-handed stage controls positioned low for ergonomic use
- Stage inserts: ø12mm, ø25mm teardrop, and crescent-shaped
Illumination:
- 12v/100w halogen illuminator with variable intensity control
- Light indicator and ECO sensor to automatically turn off illuminator when idle
- Adjustable and centerable field iris and aperture diaphragms
