PerkinElmer EnVision 2104 Multilabel Reader

The PerkinElmer EnVision 2104 Multilabel Reader is a comprehensive platform dedicated to the quantitative detection of both light-emitting and light-absorbing markers, crucial in research and drug discovery applications. It excels in measuring fast or glow luminescence, fluorescence intensity, fluorescence polarization (FP²), high-sensitivity time-resolved fluorometry (DELFIA), and homogeneous time-resolved fluorometry (LANCE). Additionally, it is capable of absorbance measurements.

The instrument employs a UV xenon flash tube with a spectral range of 230 to 1100 nm as its primary light source, complemented by a 680 nm diode laser for AlphaScreen assays and a 337 nm nitrogen laser for homogeneous TRF-assays.

It features various detection units: a photo diode for absorbance measurements ranging from 230 to 950 nm, and a photomultiplier tube for luminescence, fluorescence, and TR-fluorescence ranging from 230 to 850 nm.

Furthermore, the device offers three plate shaking modes—linear, orbital, and double orbital—with adjustable speed levels and movement amplitude. Well-area scanning allows multiple measurement points within a well, applicable across all technologies.

It supports repeated kinetic measurements or operations by plate or well and accommodates a variety of plate formats from 1 to 1536 wells. Non-standard plate configurations can also be defined within a maximum dimension of 86 x 128 x 29 mm, with both opaque and clear plates being compatible, though a clear bottom is necessary for photometric measurements.

Dimensions are 650 x 411 x 630 mm, and the unit weighs 55 kg, excluding any PC or software.
