The Molecular Devices SpectraMax 384 Plus combines a UV/Vis spectrophotometer and microplate reader with a built-in cuvette port and drawer supporting standard cuvettes, microcuvettes, test tubes, and 96- or 384-well plates (standard or UV-transparent).
- Photometric range: 0.0 to 4.0 OD
- Wavelength range: 190 to 1000 nm
- Wavelength bandwidth: 2 nm
- Reads 96 or 384 wells simultaneously, each with individual sample and reference beams mimicking a dual-beam spectrophotometer
- Filterless system with monochromator enables up to 6 simultaneous wavelengths in the visible spectrum with 1 nm increments
- Nine-channel system: 8 for microplate, 1 for cuvette port
- PathCheck sensor corrects for optical path length variation and pipetting volume differences, enabling absorbance normalization and elimination of standard curves
- Measures liquid depths and volumes down to 5 µL per well, scaling data to standard 1 cm cuvette values
- Includes built-in programmable linear and orbital shaking for sample mixing
- Data acquisition modes: endpoint, kinetic, and spectral scans
- Ideal for applications such as DNA/RNA analysis, ELISAs, immunoassays, cell viability/proliferation, enzyme kinetics, protein quantitation, endotoxin detection, and precise microvolume measurements with PathCheck technology.
