The BMG LABTECH FLUOstar OPTIMA microplate reader is a versatile instrument designed for measuring fluorescence and light absorbance in 96-well to 384-well plates. It covers a wavelength range of 240 to 740 nm, offering high sensitivity with a dynamic range exceeding 8 decades for fluorescence, and accurate absorbance measurement up to 4 OD with <0.01 OD precision across 0-2 OD range. This device supports various assay modes, including time-resolved and polarized fluorescence, with sensitivity down to < 70 amol/well for Europium and <5mP standard deviation for fluorescein polarization. It also optionally measures luminescence with a dynamic range over 6 decades. The reader provides up to 50 readings per second, achieving maximum efficiency with reading speeds of 15 seconds on a 96-well plate and 30 seconds on a 384-well plate. Features include temperature control from ambient +5°C to 45°C with a stability of 0.2°C.
