This innovative instrument consolidates multiple manual preparation steps into a single system, enabling the processing of multiple samples daily through its modular design. It supports scalable template preparation across the various Ion semiconductor sequencing chips, achieving up to 400 bases on the Ion PGM, up to 200 bases on the Ion Proton System, up to 400 bases on the Ion 520 and 530 chips, and up to 200 bases on the Ion 540 chip. The system operates without the need for gas by employing a peristaltic pump. Its efficiency is underscored by three pioneering technologies: a reaction filter for creating microreactors, an integrated thermal cycler with a disposable path amplification plate for robust cycling, and a built-in centrifuge for particle recovery.
