The CP-7200 is a meticulously engineered pick-and-place machine optimized for high-speed colony and plaque selection. This precision instrument excels even in challenging scenarios involving densely packed colonies, consistently picking only round, isolated specimens. It supports plating densities of up to 500 colonies on a 4×4 inch agar plate, with typical colony diameters being less than 0.5 millimeters. The system also offers blue/white selection and plaque picking capabilities.
Equipped with an intuitive graphical user interface, the CP-7200 grants comprehensive real-time control over all operational parameters. Real-time image acquisition is facilitated by its innovative onboard imaging system, while sophisticated image analysis software accurately identifies and selects objects of interest. The software additionally allows for customizable picking through manual selection of targets using a mouse.
Twenty tungsten needles, mounted on precision linear slides, independently execute the picking process. An input agar or microtiter plate is moved beneath the pick needle with extraordinary precision, thanks to high-accuracy X, Y stages capable of 6-micron positioning. A simple water rinse station and a compact high-temperature borehole furnace provide effective needle sterilization.
With a peak picking rate exceeding 7200 selections per hour, the CP-7200 can adeptly handle round, square, or rectangular plates, and is designed to transfer to both 96- and 384-well microtiter plates. Its rearraying software module allows for advanced clone consolidation from input to output plates, supporting seamless reconfiguration into either 96- or 384-well plates or square agar formats.
