The QIAgen QIASymphony SP Instrument offers a state-of-the-art solution for fully automated DNA/RNA purification from a diverse array of samples with variable input volumes. The QIAsymphony SP can be seamlessly integrated with the QIAsymphony AS model to further automate PCR assay setup. In tandem with the Rotor-Gene Q and QIAGEN's real-time and end-point PCR kits, it optimizes PCR workflows and enhances laboratory efficiency. This ready-to-use system requires minimal installation, and laboratories already equipped with the SP model can effortlessly upgrade with the AS module for enhanced capabilities. The SP and AS models efficiently interface, allowing for both integrated and independent operation, thereby minimizing manual handling and reducing sample contamination risk.

With the user-friendly touchscreen interface, setting up sample preparation and assay tasks is straightforward. Simply load the machine's drawers with samples, reagents, and consumables, and the system performs a detailed inventory scan to ensure accurate protocol execution. Post-preparation, purified nucleic acids can either be collected from the eluate drawer or automatically transferred to the QIAsymphony AS for assay setup. Samples can then be directly moved to a real-time PCR cycler for analysis.

The extensive flexibility of the sample input drawer accommodates a variety of formats, including bar-coded tubes, microplates, and blocks, facilitating workflows and various preparation requirements. Designed for continuous operation, the system supports batch processing of up to 24 samples plus internal controls, each capable of individualized protocol assignments, which significantly enhances efficiency and walkaway time.

The QIAsymphony AS enables detailed PCR setup options, including single or multiple PCRs per run or sample, and provides active cooling of eluates, reagents, and PCRs. Equipped with adaptable output configurations, it supports a variety of real-time PCR cyclers, such as the Rotor-Gene Q. Simple setup procedures within Strip Tubes or Rotor-Discs make transitioning to detection seamless.

QIAsymphony Kits provide safe, user-friendly operations with prefilled, bar-coded reagent cartridges for hassle-free purification processes. The rapid worktable setup, capable of accommodating two reagent cartridges, saves time and allows diverse purification procedures to run simultaneously across up to 96 samples. Automatic reagent allocation ensures precise volume usage, aiding in cost management.

Harnessing the power of QIAsymphony technology, the SP Instrument efficiently processes 1–96 samples in batches of up to 24, even with volumes as large as 2 ml. The integration of silica-based purification with magnetic particle handling, alongside specialized QIAsymphony Kits, boosts laboratory throughput, catering to molecular diagnostics, biomedical research, human identity testing, veterinary applications, biosecurity research, and life science genomics studies.
