Ettan IPGphor II Isoelectric Focusing System

The Ettan IPGphor II Isoelectric Focusing System is designed for high-precision first dimension isoelectric focusing (IEF) as part of 2-dimensional (2-D) electrophoresis studies. It features Immobiline DryStrip gel strips with an immobilized pH gradient (IPG), and strip holders that double as rehydration and IEF chambers. The unit integrates a high-voltage DC power supply and solid-state temperature control, and supports up to ten programmable user-defined IEF protocols.

Key programmable functions include rehydration time, platform temperature, current limits, voltage patterns, and step duration. The working surface features gold-plated copper electrode areas, with strip holder capacities supporting up to 12 fixed-length or 9 cup-loading options. Its temperature range is precisely maintained between 18°C and 25°C, with an accuracy of ±1°C.

Constructed with a ceramic base and acrylic cover, the strip holders accommodate various IPG strip lengths: 70, 110, 130, 180, and 240 mm. The user interface consists of a simple membrane keypad and an informative LCD display. The system can deliver a voltage range from 0 to 8000 volts with fine resolution, making it ideal for meticulous biochemical research. It is compact and does not exceed 12 W of power consumption, neatly packaged with dimensions 140 x 250 x 460 mm and a weight of 6.8 kg.
