Microm 500 OM Cryostat Refrigerated Microtome

The Microm 500 OM Cryostat is an advanced refrigerated microtome featuring a highly efficient cutting temperature range down to -40°C. Designed with versatility in mind, the upright standing unit with an open-top working area ensures ergonomic handling whether the operator is standing or sitting. The chamber cooling ranges from 20°C to -40°C under ambient conditions, while specimen cooling is disabled.

Offering a section thickness range from 0.5 to 90 µm, the cryostat provides precise resolution: 0.5 µm from 0.5 to 2 µm, 1 µm from 2 to 10 µm, 2 µm from 10 to 20 µm, 5 µm from 20 to 50 µm, and 10 µm from 50 to 90 µm. The trimming thickness can be adjusted from 5 to 300 µm, with resolutions of 5 µm up to 10 µm, 10 µm up to 100 µm, and 100 µm up to 300 µm. The instrument includes a specimen retraction of 40 µm on return travel, with a horizontal feed range of 28 mm and a vertical specimen stroke of 64 mm. A coarse feed rate of 800 µm/s facilitates rapid operation. Compact yet robust, the cryostat measures 840 x 1120 x 780 mm and weighs 180 kg.
