Die robuste Konstruktion und sorgfältige Verarbeitung von solidem Acrylglas garantieren eine hohe Lebensdauer. Beim Einsetzen in die Elektrophoresekammer wird das Gel-Sandwich an seine Position gestellt und mit zwei seitlich verschiebbaren, gefederten Klemmen und vier leichtgängigen Flügelschrauben fixiert. Sie verfügt über fest angebrachte Stromkabel mit Sicherheitssteckern. Die asymmetrische Anordnung der elektrischen Steckkontakte verhindert eine Falschpolung des Systems.Ein effizientes Kühlsystem besteht aus einem speziell für diesen Kammertypentwickelten Wasserzirkulationssystem im Kammermittelteil, welches von wärmeableitendem Aluminium-Ceram umgeben ist. Die inneren Austauschflächen des Kühlsystems sind stark vergrößert, wodurch Übertragung und Ableitung der Wärme beschleunigt werden. Eine vergrößerte obere Pufferkammer erstreckt sich über die gesamte Breite der Gele. Auf diese Weise wird eine absolut einheitliche Wärmeverteilung erzielt. Diese hochfunktionelle Kombination erlaubt schnelle, kurze Gelläufe, ohne hinsichtlich der Qualität der Ergebnisse Kompromisse eingehen zu müssen.Das Gießen von eigenen Gelen wird durch ein sehr komfortables Gießsystem erheblich vereinfacht: Für das Gießen werden die Glasplatten in das praktischerweise herausnehmbare Mittelteil des Systems gespannt und auf der invertierten Gießbasis positioniert. Beim Einsetzen in die Gießbasis wird das Mittelteil mit den eingespannten Platten über zwei Nockenhebel fest auf spezielle Silikongummis gedrückt. Die so bewirkte Abdichtung gestattet ein auslaufsicheres und zeitsparendes Gießen von bis zu zwei Gelen zur gleichen Zeit.
