TOC analysers

TOC analysers are scientific instruments used to measure the total organic carbon (TOC) content of a sample. They are used in a variety of industries, including environmental monitoring, water quality testing, and food and beverage production. TOC analysers measure the amount of carbon present in a sample by oxidizing the organic matter and measuring the resulting carbon dioxide. The instrument typically consists of (more)a sample chamber, a combustion chamber, and a detector. The sample is placed in the sample chamber and heated to a high temperature, which causes the organic matter to oxidize and release carbon dioxide. The carbon dioxide is then measured by the detector, which is usually a conductivity cell or an infrared detector. The results are then displayed on the instrument's display.

Shimadzu TOC-V ws Total Organic Carbon Analyzer with ASI-V This was removed from a university lab wh (more)ere it was surplus to requirements. Both units power up but we have not tested them further at our facility. The lab informed us that there was an issue with repeatability, but Shimazdu told them it wasn't an issue, as only the first test was ever out. They advised them to just disregard the first test.
